Not really a hard task though when you are 1 of the best drivers on the grid, with 1 of the quickest cars on the grid.

With 2 safety cars and a fair faster car I would have expected him to pass Alonso

I wouldn't see Hamilton being able to go that long on one set of soft tyres

It's not far off on this circuit. There's a reason they call it Monaco without the barriers. There's only the main straight that's a semi reasonable overtaking place. First safety car was nicely timed but everything else was his own making. iirc he was facing the wrong way into turn 2 having started from the pitlane and had himself up to 13th by the time the safety car came out which was about lap 7ish?

Certainly needed luck, got some but to say just because he's got a good car it was obvious he'd end up there is wrong. Dry track and he'd have struggled to get into the top 10. Mercs looked sluggish on the straights, struggling past the Renaults even with DRS.

Not taking anything away from Alonso Whitter45, that was phenomenal driving to get where he did. Just think it's funny giving it the big one when Lewis has just got on the podium from a ridiculous position. The only thing that matters is he beat Rosberg.

Suppose it's been yet another hilariously bad season for Ferrari, got to enjoy these few crumbs of success that come your way. Yey 2nd!
