Spuds do need to stop selling their best players if they ever want to break into the top 4 again. But I can't help feel they aren't capable of keeping them. Spuds won't turn down £30m for Modric IMO.

I don't think they would miss him too much and i am sure £25m+ would help them get a decent striker which they need more than anything, they will still have a decent enough midfield to compete with Bale, Sandro, VdV & Lennon with the likes of Kranjcar Huddlestone, Jenas Bentley Pienaar & the rest to back them up

Spuds fans were all unanimous that Modric was their best player last season.

Selling him lacks ambition though.

All Liverpool fans have been wanking over Marveaux going to them, now he's come to Newcastle he's shit, they dodged a bullet, all sorts of crap. Typical bin dippers.

Rumours coming through we've agreed personal terms with N'Zogbia. Fee believed to be £10m.
Oui aye man.

They would be stupid to sell him, even for that figure. They'll have 30 mill in the bank and a significantly weakened midfield then they will go spend the majority of that on someone that isn't as good.

They wouldn't need to replace Modric though they still have a more than adequate midfield without him and they could then afford a top class striker which they really need which imo would make them stronger overall.

Of course they'd have to replace him. He's their best player. Spurs don't need the money to buy players, they aren't short of dosh.

There's no one in their current squad capable of filling the gap his departure would leave. They have strength in depth but if they want to challenge selling their best players because there's someone decent to take his place doesn't work.

Exactly, their strength in depth is distinctly average.

Spurs were adamant about not selling Berbatov, that went well.

Barton and Diaby would get on well Can't see him going to Arse, too old. Villa apparently put in a £3mil bid.
Paper rumours that Taarabat wants a move, we could maybe use routledge as part of the deal. But unsure on him tbh.

I know nothing of him and tend to not take notice of any free transfers after Jovanovic, Cole etc

Warnock has asked him to stay there till January, but he's a tosser, so who knows what'll happen with him
