Thanks guys its still going strong!

While I had the car up in the air working on it we noticed the front tyres were getting pretty worn on the insides. I was meant to get it tracked when I first got it back on the road but kind of forgot whoops. So Today I took it to a garage to get that sorted. Bloody lucky I did as the bloke said the d/s tie bar was only held on by a couple of threads he also spotted that my d/s front tyre had some bad cracking on the inside as well which I hadn't noticed so I need to get that sorted asap. Then on the way back the exhaust started knocking typical lol. So I need to pop it on the jack tomorrow, I think the middle box might have come off one of its hangers.

Other than that its all good

Another thing, you know when you did your semi smooth boot on your own first time round? Where the boot lock comes off is the number plate surround still in line if you get me cos ive looked and im sure its got a slight curve under where the boot lock sits

Cheers

Its not mate no The cut out for the boot look surround goes into the recess for the number plate which is a pain.

Edit. Just noticed my bandwidth on photobucket has run out...ghey!

lmao Cheers lads!

Yeah *touch wood* its still going great I've done about 100 miles so far and it hasn't missed a beat. I hardly use it at the moment though so its taking a while to get the mileage on it. Getting there slowly though! The only problem I've had is my exhaust which has started hitting the rear beam since fitting the decat which is damn annoying. Going to try and find something to put under it to stop it

This week I've mainly just been doing a few bits a bobs to it to tidy it up ready for Trax. One problem I've had was the airdam bumper not fitting very well. It didn't sit nicely into the rear arches like my old bumper did so I set about fixing that with a couple of beads of tiger seal under the arches, clamped them down over night and they are spot on now Also resprayed my drivers side chassis leg as it got scratched when doing the cambelt. Other than that I've just been trying to get the engine bay as tidy as I can, and painted up a few other little bits to make it looks as good as possible.

The plan for tomorrow is to get the interior looking spanking. Then on saturday I'll be doing the exterior and under bonnet ready for the drive down sunday Really looking forward to it now, it was a mint show last year!

See you all on sunday hopefully

Just thought do a quick update with some pics I took at Trax Had a nice drive down there and back with no issues. Done another 100 odd miles towards the running in as well woop! The show was great though, top day imo

So heres so photos I took of mine. I spent all Saturday afternoon cleaning it and it paid off I reckon

If anyone else happened to take any pics of it please feel free to post them up here

Should be some more updates coming soon I have a fair few more things planned for it

Cheers chaps!

Pete, its not something I've really thought about to be honest mate. What I'd want for it and what someone is willing to pay for it are probably two very different things Its very much more sentimental value rather than monitory value for me though No plans what so ever to sell though

Thanks Paul! I could only just about be arsed to dry off mine own But yeah was good to see you again bud. Can't wait to see the new wheels on btw!

Cheers for the comments guys

Chris I'd love the have a go with it on track actually! Might be something to look into for next year maybe as my dads wanting to do a couple in his kit car as well.

xa0s, sorry to hear you dont like it mate. Personally I love it I think it ties in nicely with the skirts etc without looking too ott. I only tend to like the gsi rears on proper gsi's

looks wicked mate, i don't like that back bumper either i think it would look better with the standard post 97 on

also, you could paint the screws that hold the sideskirts on to the rear arches

my exhaust used to knock on the rear beam too, i made my own bracket and use some wire to hold it up, works perfect

Cheers mate. The bolts have been done in black hammerite but they might look better in white actually yeah As for the exhaust Im going to try and tie a exhaust rubber round the beam if possible to stop it knocking against it.

Got a little update to post while im here I've now got the exterior and engine pretty much as I want them, so its now time for some interior work Recently I've really been fancying a nice rear cage for it, after going to Trax on sunday and seeing some its made me want to do it even more

So today I spent the afternoon stripping out the rear a bit I've removed my sub + amp, rear bench and parcel shelf

I've left my seat belts and sub wiring etc in for the minute as I just want to see how I get on with it for a while incase I don't like it. I went for a quick spin earlier and all seems great! Not a massive difference in road/exhaust noise which is a bonus! The only thing bugging my is I can here my bumper rubbing against my rear light which I couldnt hear before but thats easy enough to sort. Feels noticeably nippier after its diet as well

Finally heres a quick pic of my lastest purchase. Some nice black carpet The grey carpet in it at the minute is the only thing that gives away its merit spec lol

Just needs a good shampoo then its ready to be fitted

So the plans for the interior so far are -

- White rear cage
- White rear strut brace
- Black headlining
- Black A, B and C pillar plastics
- Black carpet
- False floor
- Possibly a 5th spare white speedline

More updates coming soon hopefully
