do they hire bikes etc easily up there?

id imagine they do yeah but I'm not certain. I'm not exactly the most balanced or agile so the north shore was fair intimidating in all honesty

I dont mind it but looking at some of that other stuff I would need to hire a bike as im carbon 80mm travel hardtail race bike will get shaken to pieces

Off to ride the trail at Innerleithen tomorrow then possibly have a look at a couple of the downhill runs. They have chicken runs past the bigger stuff so should be ok.

Got some new pads from uberbike today, xtr ones with the cooling fins were too expensive, hopefully won't regret getting just normal pads....

Been really getting back in to going out on my old mountain bike as of late so decided to take the plunge and buy myself a new hardtail at the weekend.

Apologies for the crap photo, it's a 2014 Trek Superfly 6 which which was on sale at my local Evans store. First time riding a 29er but so far I love it, such a massive step up in performance from my trusty old GT Avalanche.

Flats and skate shoes!

I must've seen 8-10 fall off during the London to Brighton with spd's lol, one poor bugger came round a gate and his chain came off and over he went, landed straight on his finger nail and ripped it off :-/

I've done some pretty tricky technical rides with my spds and touch wood have never came off yet!

Has anyone experience of the ATAC system and could offer a comparison to spds? I've had some pretty substantial surgery on my both knees over the years an a guy I was out with today reckons they'd be better for me as they have more float?

32 mile MTB ride with 3550ft of climbing on my Yolo today. First time in 2 years I have been out with my bike club. Had a great time, really back into it now, first bigger on my local trails I can say I have loved. Kind of wish I had taken my Solo though, The Yolo was good but the spread of gears was not as good as I wished for as I am a fat CUNT.

For some reason I come away a bit underwhelmed. All the runs seemed much of a muchness.

I did mate i felt the same think the lack of manmade features didnt help as there was nothing for them to vary how they could to tricks etc. How van steenburgen eventually walked away from that front flip i dont know

First ride out on the road bike in ages averaged 18mph over 15 miles which isn't bad for a fat cunt. Determined to lose all the weight I've piled back on before spring so I can endure more long mtb rides.

2nd ride out on road bike, bit slower, 17.8 average but its a good vbit colder and more wind so isn't too bad. need to get back up to the 20 plus average i used to manage start of last year. gonna take a lot of effort that though.
