When did comex say that? Just a few hours ago MuscleNerd said keep an eye out for a JailbreakMe 2.0 style.
I don't think there is any point holding out for 4.2 as I think Apple are going to follow a more agile developement meaning you get sub releases more frequenty. I would not be supprised to see a 4.3 around Feb/March

There could be a 4.1 Jailbreak, but I guess it does make sense if they wait for 4.2...

best phone ive ever had. not troubled by john aka 3corsameal aka steve's constant slaggings. none of the rumours he has posted about issues have happened to anyone i know with one. seems a lot of "hype" by internet nerds and warriors.

I have my suspicions that John tries to operate the iPhone using a hammer

Im surprised that the owners of Rock/Cydia dont 'sponsour' the dev team to jailbreak, since their entire profit relies on them jailbreaking.

btw, according to Engadget, 4.1 is out now, I shall be downloading as since buying my new car with SatNav, my primary reason for jailbreaking (Tomtom as well as desktop folders) has been removed.
Everything at the moment for me is not essiental.

4.1 is out, I'd like my face to stop hanging up calls, would be nice if there was a jailbreak so I don't need to wait until November.
Too slow.
I need the jailbreak for the unlock so I need to wait

The rules about App development are being relaxed and Apple are being a bit more open about App approval.
Also, if this comes to iPhone then John will be happy.

Depends if it has access to the hardware decoding chip or not.
There are programs out now that play the file formats I mention, software decoding though which is rarely fast enough, and never fast enough for HD.

Can't seem to find any further info on it, will have to wait and see if Apple kill it first too...

Though looking into it, VLC doesn't support hardware decoding on Macs...

Apple have just updated their App guidlines for submission/approval, its actually about time and makes good sense;
quote:
•We have lots of kids downloading lots of apps, and parental controls don't work unless the parents set them up (many don't). So know that we're keeping an eye out for the kids.
•We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more Fart apps. If your app doesn't do something useful or provide some form of lasting entertainment, it may not be accepted.
•If your App looks like it was cobbled together in a few days, or you're trying to get your first practice App into the store to impress your friends, please brace yourself for rejection. We have lots of serious developers who don't want their quality Apps to be surrounded by amateur hour.
•We will reject Apps for any content or behavior that we believe is over the line. What line, you ask? Well, as a Supreme Court Justice once said, "I'll know it when I see it". And we think that you will also know it when you cross it.
•If your app is rejected, we have a Review Board that you can appeal to. If you run to the press and trash us, it never helps.
•This is a living document, and new apps presenting new questions may result in new rules at any time. Perhaps your app will trigger this.

A review process is good (in theory) for keeping the content at a high standard, they've rejected some strange things in the past, and also let through some strange stuff.
