Ok, i dont want to p1ss on anyones party but the fly figures seem too high to me.
Eg, sooty's 138bhp.
i agree with his 99.5bhp @ wheels but 39% transmission losses is way too high for a front wheel drive car.
The norm for a front wheel drive is 25% although some reckon the 106 box only gives 10% losses.
So 99.5 + 25% =124.3bhp which seems a more reasonable figure to me.
u said it there

in ure post there u stated that u thought the figures were wrong kus he was gettin a 39% transmission loss
when in actually fact u worked it out wrong and it is actually a 27.9% loss which would be in line with the average 25% u also stated

The 39% transmission looses are very high as a result of the oil in the gearbox being cold/thick because the car was sitting for 1 1/2 hours in 4 degrees outdoor temp b4 being run on the being on the RR.
Do you understand now Kerry?

ITS NOT A 39% TRANSMISSION LOSS ITS 27.9%
HE GOT 99.5 @ WHEELS AND 138.5 @ FLYWHEEL WHICH IS A DIFFERENCE OF 39 WHICH MEANS 27.9% TRANSMISSION LOSS

Sooty said his "drag output was 39.
99.5 was his @ wheels figure + 39%which were his transmission losses as a percentage = 138.3bhp according to my calculator.
And the RR posted says 138.5bhp fly.
Where do you get 27.9 from?

engine output = 138.5bhp
wheel output = 99.5 bhp
drag output = 39 bhp
that to me is a 27.9% loss

We know why, Sooty's car was sitting for 1 1/2 hours so the transmissin losses were greater than expected due to the oil being cold/thick.
