dont forget every car is different so two corsa gsi`s might not have the same power, one could have more than the other

yeah you are right, a sport will not kill a VTR, but it is faster. Just like that famous film, "it dont matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning."

adam, i still think the GSi's are capable of a sub 8.5 second figure to 60. It really does depend on condition of engine and age too.

but generally 1,2 bhp difference here of there does not make that much difference to performance on the road

you mean like the 3bhp difference between a C16 and X16?? i know torque plays into it too, but every little counts

I got 9.1 0-60 and quoted time for X16XE is 9.5

Imagine that I had taken my spare wheel out and the back seats, that would be down to 8.8 - 8.9

sxi, the C16 is far superior than the X16 not only because of the 3BHP difference in power, but the increase in torque too. Also peak torque is around 500rpm lower in the C16, which aids considerably in acceleration and the F15 gearbox seems to favour this lower mid range torque better

Can you remember what sort of revs you changed gear at, i found that redlining does nothing for acceleration, and changing at around 5.5k was much better

people go on about 0-60 not being important and that its 0-100 that counts, but if your not picking up good speed by about 60-70mph your gonna lose!!!
