How was he trying to look cool by bringing up an old thread? people bring up threads from years ago all the time? 
And to be fair i dont know steve personally and without sounding gay. i like him lol ye he takes things a bit to far sometimes but hes seems like a sound guy  doesnt care what people thinks about him and doesnt try to be cool as you said. everyone bitches at him. and dont you think slating someone on a forum makes you looklike a bit of a twat to?

I've met him too. He wouldn't have said boo to a ghost. I slate steve becuase he truley is a keyboard warrior.
Maybe i am a twat, im cool with that, but at least im not low enough to publically slag off his gf without knowing a damn thing about her....
That is low, petty, and something u'd see 5yo'd doing in the primary school playground.
If he doesn't act like that in real life, then again that shows that he's trying to look good online thus creating a false character. How many times has been been banned from forums again?

How is getting banned from well known car forums going to make him look cool though? im banned off nearly every car site in south wales for my opinions on cruising etc.i dont do it to look cool i just think theyre all tossers on thosse sites
I dont argue moan or bitch at people in real life because im not the type to go looking for fights,only fight if i have to maybe steve is the same? on the internet you can have a voice without fear off ending up in a brawl? i would off thought steve not going on to people starting in real life makes him a decent human being as he doesnt have to join the scum/chavs of society by fighting etc.
And yes maybe he shouldnt slate peoples girlfreinds without knowing them,but you dont neccesarily know steve properly yet your slating him isnt that the same thing?

as i say just my opinion.
I dont even know steve or have met him.
But hes seems ok from all his posts to me.
ive even had full scale arguments with him on here over smoking bans etc. and i still dont dislike him.maybe he reminds me off myself
Enough about it anyway just my two cents on the subject

There used to be a good vibe coming on here posting having a big group of people I considered similar minded. Maybe that's why it feels different now because everything has moved on.

As you say, times change, and since we've been on here, the word "chav" and its culture appeared (Chav wasn't around when we used this place first, we called them neds and boyracers).
This was only in 2000 as well.
Shows how good our government is and how quickly they've screwed up over the years.
Meets got a lot quieter (not volume of cars), no-one would say anything to each other.
Can't comment on now as don't go to meets, but from speaking to others, it just aint the same.
