its a cheap option to just whap a 2.0 in then :boggle.
but prob cheaper to fix yours and pop a basic TB kit on... then build it up over time....
1500 is pretty much it for a basic kit...... you can no doubt buy it in bits n bobs for a steal

Thing is, i think after a short time, you will get bored of the lack of power than the 1.6 gives out.
Its like a standard 1.4/1.6 with induction kit. It sounds a lot faster than it goes....
But then saying that, Stu Smiths 220+ car didn't really impress me either. The only TB car i've been impressed with was Daves (LuckyB's). Now THAT was quick for a corsa!!

On the other hand i have to say driving Brosters car is awesome.
Good power - ok might be down in the torque stakes but you can literally hammer it all day long and it will take it, its set up really well, with a decent balance of understeer, handles soooo well.
I have driven an 20xe as well and its good, but you can feel the weight disadvantage but you can feel the torque advantage, you could spend serious cash making it handle....
Not much to choose from between 16/20 xe
If you want balls out power go LET, but anything more than standard your talking serious tranmission mods to make it a "rewarding" drive.
Your call buddy - you know what i think anyhow

I know what you mena, i really really do...
I just want mine to work, can't even tow it out the garage without issue though (drives curved and VERY steep uphill incline with a wall either side).
I want Lee to just sort it, but can't be assed with the hassle of trying to get it out and towed to his

i towed my old shell down from edinburgh to his...... come on
and towed the new one up
Its useless us debating whats best etc.... Its all down to Jr. What do you like? Nimble but not that powerfull? Powerfull and torquey in usefull way.... powerfull boost nutter wheelspin machine?
A car just for 1/4mile is daft..... buy a big block V8 bla bla bla
A car that will handle circuits is much more rewarding....

This is gospel and seeing as you want to do more track days its perfect just to fix the car rather than sell the bits off again cos it wont start

Few problems Adam
1) VXR has a center exit exhaust, D5NNA has a center exit, and im buggered if im gonna try towing it up this incline on my bike (check the incline on the background bricks)
2) need bricks and blocks and ramps to get up up the drive still, hard to do while towing uphill.
3) Road runs parallel to the garage, so at the top it turns to the right, and has a brick wall running up each side.
4) I've just bought a house, not much money left now to get a trailer etc
I could get it out, but the curve at the top, while being towed could be an issue.
I've got a mate with an L200 mitsu truck thingy, but gonna have to pre arrange that I think.
Sorry JR, post invasion lol...
TBH though, you;ve not said what you want to use the car for though?

You've seen my drive, not pleasent is it
I'll still say 2.0 then im afraid.
1.6 - good on track, won't cut it on the 1/4.... Will also be left on the road by anything turbo'd.
2.0 - good on track, good on the 1/4. More chance keeping up with smaller turbo's, and you know the saying, no replacement for displacement.
2.0 tubby - Good 1/4 mile - terrible on track. PLus the budget associated with it.

Depends AK, if you can source one you can pick them up for £500-£1000. Well, thats not cheap to me actually, but certainly cheaper than the basic £2k kit from SBD
