I think we are ruining yet another thread Could we do our own mini version of the 1/4 mile? With reaction timers and a 1/25 scale recovery van?

Now there's a thought.
Did you catch the scale speed thing they did with Scalextric type cars on that toy programme that James May presented?
It was amazing. The cars were doing well over 300 miles an hour in most cases.

I was a bit shocked.
They set up a scale mile of straight track and then just nailed every car that came along flat out past a timing beacon and they were all insano fast.
I think the winner did something like 365 miles an hour. It may even have been faster than that.
It all started when they bought a Scalextric Ford GT out to compare it to the real thing, and it ABSOLUTELY trounced it.
Then each and every car after that went quicker and quicker still.
I think drag racing is deffo gonna be the winner, especially if we are all pished.

That's what I was thinking.
Btw, I don't want to piss on everyone's strawberries/bonfire, but we haven't actually got a venue yet.

Don't worry about not having any cars, half the folk who are attending are the same just buy a cheap one or two and you're sorted

There must be a national/international convention/s for this kind of thing that we could all turn up to en masse, and create merry hell as Team CS 'The Drunken Unstoppables'.
We could all take the nearest hotel by seige and do team enduro rounds at the track side with regular 'refreshment' breaks.
