There's a few winners in this thread, prize is being asked to leave.
Some people are also overlooking that Saturday at Trax was basically a board meeting between a cross section of interested members, and that this isn't all sitting behind a keyboard having an opinion about things in isolation.

Attitude is the wrong word but today I like the fact that you can make a point fairly effectively without talking about toy guns or rolfcopters.

A 1967 Corvette is a 1967 Corvette? Its not quick, doesn't go round corners, but clean ones are worth loads....
An old Triumph motorcycle bike is old, doesn't handle very well, doesn't go quick, breaks down every time you take it out, but worth more than a lot of modern bikes........
Just because its a shopping trolly, doesn't mean its worth a bit to the right person. If its as mint as you say, put it up for £2.5k min and see how you go.
As for getting 51 plate SXi's, well, you go for that, they are gutless, whine like a pig with a poker up its ass, sloppy handling, AWFUL brakes. So what if its newer. If the GSi is as clean as he says, then its quicker, comfier, looks better, stops better, rides and handles better, in fact, the only worse off things are the usual tax, insurance and fuel costs........
THing is rob and majority of people on here are the minority yet they think 99% of the popualtion think like them, when persoanlly id rather have a whining brakes corsa sxi that im not having to shed out loads of money on every MOT time because i own a shiny red corsa gsi L reg that doesnt have any scratches wwwwwooooooowwwwww.
Get a grip, corvettes and all the other crap you were on about pal, i genuinly dont care to be honest a cars a car aslong as mine gets me a-b without costing me to much money im happy, and to me the thought of someone handing over 2k for a 12 year old corsa just makes me chuckle.
Last 3 MOT's its not had to have one thing done it except for new brake disc's and pads so SMB
Secondly you have always, and always will be a cock

Your annoying me recently as well, the car is worth more to a Vauxhall enthusiast than the average Joe, I doubt Rob would sell it to an average Joe, I have no problem spending 2.5k on this car because I am an enthusiast and appreciate what a fine specimen of a Vauxhall GSi it is. I wouldn't find another one like his about so would pay over the odds for it.
Now kindly STFU.
Exactly, i dont think its overly great or anything, but its a mint GSi with 65k on FSH, all MOT's everything, mint bodywork, perfect wheels, perfect interior, and i would sell it to someone who will look after it like i am doing .

I havent read this post since page 2 but its quite pathetic reading it through now.
I simply asked what people think it is worth...
From there we have comments off someone who spent probably 6 - 7k making his car look like a hippo (davido)
Sooty, pointless comments and should be banned indefinetly IMO.
Steve, Shitty response's as always, you know for well that this car is worth more than what parker's say's.
I cant bleive you ask a simple question and get cocks coming on looking down on you and thinking there better than you cause they may have a better car better salary...etc
Like i give a shit, my silver corsa was nice, and now im 18 and i own a GSi and soon to own a cupra R, but even then, i wont look down on people because they have a car that is considered lesser than mine, i was admire the work that goes into keeping an old car in immaculate condition

some people will see it as a good buy because they will pay £1500 for a standard gsi and to buy the extra bits like wheels, light ect, its gona cost them more then £500 so it is a good buy.
other people wont think its a bargain because they want to do something else to it and not keep those parts on it.
also comes down to where abouts you live, i sold a 1.3 m plate escort with a rs2000 kit on for £1250, because it appealead to boyracers,
in essex by the way. in some areas i would of only got £900
valid point i do realise some idiot will pay 2k for this, as you said a boy racer thinking people are going to be impressed because he owns a L reg corsa gsi. Tragic.
[Edited on 07-09-2006 by Davido]
Impressed ? Im asking how much people think its worth, not if people are impressed. You come on here to cause arguements, and soon youll be banned

They don't - parkers will still value them down, general marketplace will still value them down. Enthusiast will pay more for a good one. Its not even about Robs car, its about the fact that if you want something particular you need to either wait for years until one comes up at the price or pay more and get one now. I would sell mine for £2.5k if someone offered me it, but if I needed to move it and needed the cash I wouldn't expect anything like that, especially if I was selling it to the motor trade.
