Quick update of the year so far.
Not a lot has changed for the Corsa, Luckily now I have got myself a company car. Means the Corsa can spend a lot longer in the garage and not having the hard life it's usually had over the last 3 years.
Spent some cash on the new wheels which have been fitted. Polished D90's look the part and get a fantastic response at the shows.
Here she is at Combe in April. Donning the SXi wheels this was it's first outing in a while, and it didn't mind having the shit kicked out of it going round the track. Get in!! Was also a great laugh in the pissing rain too.
Finally got the wheels of my dreams earlier in the year aswell.

Polished Porsche D90 wheels wrapped in awesome Pirelli P-Zero Nero Rubber. Size matters here, and the low profile I had makes the difference. 195/40/16 Looks the part and gives a slight stretch on the rear without looking silly.
Pics from the trial fitting before the cash swapped hands...
In fairness, after seeing it I had decided in my mind what I wanted. Robin's immediate reply...

That looks incredible
...and a CS poll of 135 "Yes" votes to 41 "No" sealed the deal, the cash swapped hands.
Detailing:
Car was detailed to have the paint corrected (Covered in swirls - Was quite disheartening to see). Now it's all been corrected i'm nervous as fook when washing it. Constantly buying new wash mitts at the moment. Cleaning is an expensive habit! Ha!
Pics below show some of the swirling and the state of the laquer (Misty) before the work was done. Car looks so much more vibrant now and the colour is much much deeper.

PVS 2008:
Car got it's usual good response at PVS. Shame the stand location was a bit shite this year...
Cheers to everyone that took pics:
Took it up the strip, and it was playing up a bit.
On the way home noticed the engine temps getting hotter and hotter the faster I drove it. Not so good. HG fail
Cleaned it all up niceley and got jiggy with some Waxoyl.
Thanks to Dan/Benn on Mig for fitting me in and sorting out the HG.

23/08:
Just updated the above post with the project so far this year.
This little lot arrived for me today:
Big Box hehe:
Looked inside:
And the best bit (Smells awesome):
Came next day delivered from the champions at Elite Car Care! Would definatley recommend them. http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/
Can't wait to get involved with that. Will keep her nice and shiney!
Had the HG replaced last weekend. Just picked up new CV boot, Wheel bearing and brake pads to fit in time for Combe next month. Race is on as usual then. Then going to whack the SXI's on for a bit and smoke it around!
Also my HID's have stopped working and one of my brake calipers is binding. Hmph!

i absolutely adore your car mate!!
Could someone do a thread on what products to use for polishing a car and how to do it for ultimate shine please?? I'm 17 and don't really know much about it all!! lol, the furthest I've been is the red auto glym which is good but I have alot of 'swirl marks' in my paint!

Why?! All of that stuff is a piece of piss to use and is basically just pro versions (ie. better and more economical to use) than the stuff you can get anywhere else!
Good stuff Phil - Keep it up!

UPDATE 24/08:
This guy is named Nick and is one of my best friends, I've known him for years and years and we speak nearly every day. He's been mentioned a couple of times in the thread as a lot of the time, he has been involved in doing a lot of the work on the car with me. I've learnt loads with him, and if it wasn't for his help and skill I probably wouldn't have the Corsa as it is today.
Last Sunday 24-August my world fell apart when he was involved in an road accident on his motorbike and died before I could get to the hospital. Still feeling pretty numb about it all, and am trying to get my head round it. Finding it so hard to believe that he'll never phone me again.
I'm adding him into the thread because of the amount of work he has put into the car with me. We've spent a load of weekends rolling around in the rain and freezing temperatures in the past. Is nice to add him into the thread.
UPDATE: Firey wires...
Haven't had much heart to work on the car this week. Went and spent a bit of time on it yesterday and got it all running again. When it was running I moved round to the front and it cut out whilst I was revving it. Some wiring loom had touched the back of the alternator and erm... gone up in smoke.
Luckily managed to get a spanner and yank off the battery terminals and throw a nearby tub of coolant on it before it damaged anything else. Damage assessment was this little bit of loom:
Still needs a new CV boot, Wheel bearing and brake pads before it will be ready to drive again, aswell as that bit of loom. Can't really be arsed though atm. It might make Trax.
