ollie my friend had the same issue when he got his
He was just 21 and he had to go to numerous dealers before one would let him drive one.
I think in the end he took his dads lancer with him and they let him after seeing the car he brought with him

Renault insulted me by suggesting I sort my loan out first. BMW seemed nice enough yet never called me back. Subaru were more than happy to take my money

Not saying they are owned by Chavs but I just think they have a bad repuatation similar to how people judge BMW drivers etc
I'm noit saying a TT is better than a subaru but it was just my opinion
this is my interior and I;m not saying its the best but looks and feels more upmarket then the scooby
Scoob is built to be a rally car , weight is a key player , that little lot will add up some weight.

Lots of time and effort
When I first got the car last year the prev owner had washed with a sponge and used a few of those "attended" car washed so it was full of swirls and hollagrams... Fully corrected all this with a pc and sealed the paint, all i do to look after it now is wash it properly and top up the protective costing with ag superglym and ag egp...

Even though I do like the Astra VXR's, I would go for the Impreza. Though I have never driven one myself, from what I've heard they sound like so much fun to drive and to me that's the main point of a car, not the quality of the interior.
This thread tempted me to have a look through Auto Trader and I came across this one. Its a little above your budget Ojc at £17,285 but might be worth a look if you down the Impreza route?
I wonder how much I'd get for my car on part-exchange for one of these...?

Reading through these posts recently about the interior of the scoob... wtf is wrong with it If you are expecting leather arm chairs then you are looking for the wrong kind of car A scoob is a rally derived machine, not designed to be comfy I'd go down the scoob route if I was you ollie, but I'm a bit biased as I'm in love with my dads one
