The best car for that price was the Astra VXR, is there a problem with this?

DC5's are awesome cars but totally different to the Astra. I would imagine the Astra would be quicker in a straight line, has more torque, probably more comfortable.
Out of the 2 I would have the DC5, but I can see why some people would choose the Astra.

Its personal opinion at the end of the day and although the dc5 is a brilliant car the VXR is a very good car too. I had a ride in a VXR PFC test car the other day and it was devastatingly fast. Very gud choice imo and as for depreciation mongers there comes a point in your life where you have worked so long you need to reward yourself . My parents jus bought a 30k Merc because they want some luxury and dnt care about depreciation ! NICE CAR!!!

If i were a track driver, id have the Teggy still. It is THE best FWD handling car, you don't need outright power to make a quick track car.
But as a daily driver, to drive on normal UK roads, the VXR kills it.
Autocar currently have a Focus ST, Golf GTi, and an Astra VXR, and they love it. Also they note how the VXR IS that much quicker than its rivals...
So in terms of cars that are in the same league, there is only 5-6 cars you can look at.
As said before, only the lack of toys inside the VXR bring it down. It needs more toys.

Totally agree, thats what I was trying to say really
DC2 is the best FWD handling car though superior to the DC5 IMO.

Everyone has different opinions and all a valid opinions and points of view but it depends on the individual as to whether the car suits them and their needs

Steve talks more BS than a chav after reading max power.
If you want a derv, get an 888 Astra. 200bhp, 150mph, 47mpg...
No Golf beats that
