I think I've asked this before, but forgot about it.
What makes time attack different to any other racing series? Is it because they have no power limit? It seems some have much more power than others and its how much money you want to spend.

Its not strictly door to door racing. Its cars on the track at the same time trying to get the fastest lap. So first past the line isnt really the aim
there are classes.....
Club - 4wd, NA over 3.0, NA under 3.0, RWD & FWD. - Thel are all on track at the same time.
Club Pro - bigger budget teams with more safety regs and free'er reign on mods.
Pro - big budget, pro drivers etc
Club Pro & Pro run on track together.
Club is really open to anyone as long as the car meets the regs, and you as a driver are suitable (i.e not an ex touring car driver ).
There is no limit on power/weight but cars are pre-judged before hand..... and as has just happened, the front runner from club has been moved up to Club Pro as he was too quick. Won the first 3 rounds, all within 5% of Club Pro winning time.
As with any motorsport though. Depest pockets normally wins.

yup...
I have no chance of winning in the Impreza at Brands.
I'm about 300hp down on the leading impreza. I'm trying not to come last
The skyline does ok though. Fee has scored points at all rounds so far, 9th, 5th, 7th.

The car is actually finished just now, but I've not got any pics of it all back together yet.

is that a guess at what the cage weighs in at? id love a cusco bolt in, but dont really wana add any weight!
iv just done lightend pulleys on mine, they rekon fitting them is the equivelant to removing 45ish KG in weight from the car , would cancel out what you just put back in?

steering wheel with quick release boss (ebay special )
Seems to stick a fair distance out, so will have to wait and see what its like. Can easily just revert to wheel on fixed boss alone if its to close to me

wheel was about £70, went for a 65mm dish rather than the 95mm.
Quick Release Boss was around £35
Got the 'normal' boss with the car as a spare.
