People are saying having your pockets is innocent and no threat, could have fucking anything in his pockets. All the police know is there is shit loads of protesters and shit could go down, a bloke is obstructing them and the coppers got to think why has he got both his hands in his pocket, id rather knock his arse down than have the slight risk of getting stabbed.

Notice the type of folk that complain about bandwagons when a majority don't agree? Maybe you should face it that more people disagree with you and are entitled to post their beliefs and not whine about a bandwagon, claiming to be a victim.

He has been pushed and he has happened to have a heart attack the same day, simple as. Last time I looked, (which was today since I work for the NHS around raising awareness of Cardiovascular disease) being pushed over wasn't on the list of risk factors in regards to the UK's biggest killer.

Also if he would have treated the situation/atmosphere in the respect that it needed he wouldn't have been in a position to get shoved, are you really that nieve that you think the policeman won't have told him to move etc first?! Think how tired that copper would be pushing protesters around all day like that?! It is a tense situation, everyone with half a brain knows that, its not your average day and walk home from work.

As for taking him to the side and arresting him, there is a host of reasons why that isn't viable. However, i'm sure people would be as equally as quick to complain about the police when they ended up thin on the ground (after all being away escorting people who they had arrested) and a situation arose where a few people died from being crushed or hurt in violence etc that the police were meant to be there to stop.

i was never debating the fact he died on the day, like i said there will be no way to prove that was a result of the push.

i was saying the police used over the top force and are not allowed to do that.

as for the band wagon i dont care if people have different opinions ect, its the fact that for 2 pages people started posting stupid images of babies, graphs and general stupid comments, none of which are actually funny or witty at all.

So in your opinion, a riot copper with a dog (or in a line of other riot cops with dogs) telling and then pushing a guy out the way is over the top.

Christ, lets hope you're never in charge of of this nations security...we'd be waling terrorists out in padded handcuffs and putting them in stretch hummers.

That was one pic, that VXR quote. Then one graph, which I quote.

4 posts out of a possible 20 something on a normal page.

Firstly he didnt hit him, or at least not that it looks like from the vids and certainly not what the guy (and those around him) have said so far.

Secondly, from what I know he has only just come forward today and HAS NOT been suspended. Its also against employment law for him to be suspended prior to an investigation without evidence - witch with him and his co-workers only coming forward tonight has not happened.

And really - you think 3 pages of stupid comments? Id accept if you include Daimos comments which IMO are also really stupid comments.

Depends what vid you watch, on the first and closest angle he doesnt get hit but rather a swing at him and then the push over. On the far away one you can only see the swing and no push.

Personally I dont actually care if he hit then pushed, as long as he gave prior warning to move before he did so.

i dont really care, he was clearly being a nuisance, if police are penalised for little things like that then criminals will run riot. people should lose any rights for being pushed or hit when they start winding up the police and instigating trouble

Different ways of looking at this:

Cop was probably heavy handed - but then hes probably under instruction to move people on from their path. They've probably been pushing back the unemployed unwashed protesters all afternoon!!

Man seems in no hurry, if a wall of police was coming towards me id have got out of their way pronto. He doesnt seem that old, im sure he could have made more of an attempt to clear the police path.

Tough one, I can see the police man getting fucked for it, whether just doin g his job or being heavy handed I think hes going to feel the full force of his actions.

He has been suspended pending the enquiry, as the IPCC thought it would be for the better.

Great point. All our CCTV to "keep the public safe" and not one camera has picked up this incident.

Interesting way to keep us safe by cameras then yeah????

No but he was subject to a fatal heart attack minutes after being assaulted and thrown to the ground. The two incidences go hand in hand.

It's a good job you aren't one then.

There are enough brash, heavy handed police officers already.

I'll stand up for the police and say they do their job far better than most other countries. I don't like them either but that's a natural reaction to something that exists to stop me doing things I want to do.

Like I said, he is swaggering about in front of riot police. What other outcome is there other than being forcefully pushed out the way? Ask him nicely and when he says no sit down and bargain with him?

I'm not au fait with all the details, but does anyone know if he was perhaps hard of hearing? He might not have been acting belligerent and simply didn't hear some of what was said.

he was pissed, he was spotted drinking in the town beforehand and spotted obstructing the police prior to the pushing.

It has just came out that the man didn't die from a heart attack, he died from internal bleeding.
