No it wasn't an excuse what i was asking was if they would take me on without means to travel over Christmas to deliver for them. I'll go on the website now anyway.
They have vans and bikes at the sorting offices, you only need to travel too and from there. The rest of it you can just be a passenger with some dude in a van. Or if it's really REALLY local you might just cycle.

Even without the experience I'd be applying for things like -

I only have a butchers local and 1 pub. The pub is owned by a family and they all work there. The butchers recently had a job going, so i went in to enquire but they gave the position away already.

Yeah definately. If you get the interview and impress them then there is the slight chance you'll get it. If not its good interview experience for you.

It's just when i finish Uni i don't want to then look for a job but have them see me work f/t for only 6 motnhs or so then leave, it wouldn't look good.

This isn't an excuse btw.

Even if he doesn't get an interview at least he's attempted it and not just sat there moaning there's no jobs. People need to be more proactive IMO

I'd just not tell them, then give a months notice as normal. Dont say anything to give a company any incling that you will be going.

Tried Agency work ?

typical F**king KID of the modern Britain.

Expect everyone else to do the work for them and have stuff handed on a plate..

Get off your own lazy ass, search the internet, check your paper, get in your yellow pages and call companies asking if they have any temp work.

F**king lazy badger....

You don't have to tell them you're going to uni. If you applied for a job I was offering I wouldn't care if you had only worked somewhere for 6 months before going to uni. That's going to be a lot more attractive to me than you trying to explain you spent 6 months sat in front of an xbox

Sorry if im harsh, but all im reading is.

"its too hard, theres nothing, i can't do it, blah blah..."

When nothing has changed, we've all been there, but somehow all had mini jobs that have been pt or tempory work.

There are no excusses if you REALLY want one.

How much do you want to earn tbh. Until your 25, you should be aiming to earn your age (maybe give or take a couple of k).

Now in your position your after a job as a filler, so that rule goes out the window.

13 - 16k full time (39hrs per week) IMO. But dont be picky, if they offer 12k, take it.

Per Month, 12k works out at 850

I do really want a job. Like i said earlier, i hate no having money to do things. ATM i only have £25 left in my bacnk account. Isn't it a positive that i don't want to claim JSA even though im entitled to it? I don't want to take the money off people who work hard to earn it.

Joe, I think its more a rule of thumb to help when applying for jobs (or was when i was 18) so now the markets have crashed probably is no longer relevant.
