Good work. Vauxhall valve stem oil seals won't fit the double springs. If you didn't already know.

I've got a multi-V alternator, with a four ribbed pulley going cheap, if you want one.

All the stem seals where on and fitted fine, was only the springs that help the seal that where missing on 6 of the 8 exhaust valves.

Got a pic of the pulley and a price?

I'll get a picture for you tomorrow, of the alternator. £15 to cover the postage?

Sorry I don't get you. Double springs shouldn't fit GM oil seals, you'll need FWD RS200 ones.

Are the alternator pulleys only meant to have 4 grooves as my crank has 6?

On other news, old Mahle pistons and Forged rods are now forsale, and engine going for machine is on hold for another month or so.........why? Just bought a set of Arrow rods and Kent/SBD vernier pulleys at a great price. Happy days.

I've always had a crank pulley with loads of grooves. I never had any trouble with the belt coming off even at 7.5k rpm.

Even though theyre pretty much sold, decided to ultrasonically clean my old Mahle pistons.
These have had a few hours soaking away aswell as three 15min shaking sessions.

Im fairly happy with the results.

Just been to Preston to drop off the fresh block, Omega pistons, Arrow rods, standard crank, standard multi vee pulley, lightened pot type flywheel and my Helix clutch cover off for checking, machining and balancing. Once thats all sorted ill be ordering some ARP heads and mains, Zlet oil pump and pickup, sending my sump off for baffaling and I will officially be ready to start rebuilding.

£100 for over sizing and decking the block
£70 for bottom end balancing
£30+ for polishing/grinding the crank.

Billy is very very well priced. Proper old school engineer.

Small update but an update none the less.

4 new CV joints.

Still have my old ones as spares but figured since the shafts where off the car and have done a fair few miles of not having alot of grease in them I would replace the lot.
