I forgot about this thread. Great work so far, is going to look really nice when it's done. A double garage is so much better than a single.

Well car is all tucked up in the dry....

Roof is on, just needs the flashings made for the edges, and the roof is water tight.

Has a nice fleece lining inside, which is supposed to stop condensation and reduce noise. But just happy to finally have a roof, so even when it's raining I should be able to get on with jobs inside.

Could do with weather warming up a bit before do the concrete floor.

getting there dan roof on just in time for winter.

i did wonder why you didn't opt for a pitched roof as i think they look better, but i see you said that requires planning permission.

The thread title should be:

Project Brutus.

Reminds me of people who build big fuck off extensions on their 2 bed house (not a bad thing).

Its not taken over a great deal of space, plenty room to extend the house still. Especially now the planning has been eased until 2015, time for a huge kitchen if money allows

Pic from sale advert, if you doubled the path beside the garage, that is pretty much where the new garage ends.

Think I'll stick with current boring title, need to update rest of house in here too.

Yeah green shed is a workshop then out of the picture is a garden shed, both going to be rebuilt on back of garage so I get more garden space back. As how they are now is a bit spread out.

Well the garage door is finally on:

Need to sort the concrete floor, get flashings on the roof, side door fitted and its finally water tight to start cracking on.

Hopefully weather stays dry and above freezing so can actually get it finished.

Would it not have been easier to concrete the floor prior to putting the roof on? I dont know anything about construction but to me that would have been more logical.

Either do it right at the start before building or do it at the end. This way I can have doors on, roof on, water tight and could then do it on a wet day without having to worry about it getting too wet. Plus this way I get to chuck all my rubble and left over cement into the floor.
