Wouldnt say this was arguing either tbh. Just because we dont agree on things dont mean its an argument.

Clios arent fast but they are quite quick. What other standard car in the same as the clios are better? Apart from the ctr which are faster and possibly better handling but the spec of them is shit compared to the 182ff. There isnt anything that is majorly better or worse which is roughly around the same price. Like john said though there is nothing till you get to 5k but then what do you expect from a 2.0 n/a.

i find mine ok under 5k, since having the inlets ive noticed the 5k kick is smoother and pulls harder to the limiter.

182/CTR/Focus ST/Megane Sport/VTS/

All the same speed roughly,

All decent at handling too bar the focus, a well driven one of the above would not be touched by a Corsa XE.

I've owned all the above bar the Focus and have friends with XE's and still have them now, straight line was pretty even, braking and cornering the above all out handled them easily. One Corsa has billies too and whiteline bits and bobs

I doubt you'd be saying that about the ST if you had owned one Rob. It's the best car in that list without a doubt. Handling might not be as good as the french cars but it's still a very good handler.

no, a focus st 2.5 turbo.
The focus is quite a heavy car and just no justice for its 225bhp in a straight line.

TBF I never pushed the CTR I drove. I just ragged the shit out of it to feel the 'Vtec' which never actually came

ST I drove felt quick and planted with nice progressive understeer. Bearing in mind at the time I had my 320 brake Scooby so I knew it was a good car. Wanted one from that day. Also I'd driven hundreds of different cars everyday for 6 months so on those basis I rekon I have a good ground for comparison.

ive been in a few CTR and one felt absolutley ass poor, there wasnt much in vtec either, like you said.
And the other one was ok, seemed a little bit better.
Both were standard.

Yeah I can definately say I wasn't impressed my 182 at least kicked off more at 5k were as the CTR just stayed the same speed and never went any quicker! Like the overall 'Feel' of the car though especially the gearshift action and location.

Who is saying a 172 is as quick as an ST

Do me a favour, around Brands I got dicked on by a Focus ST and I wasn't hanging around in the 172.
