Making booze more expensive is like putting a band aid on a gsw.

We have deep rooted social problems that seem impossible to solve, the budget is pretty muc the last place we should be looking for reform tbh.

Agreed on the lowered duty meaning essentially in a few weeks due to instability in the world prices will rise and it will be more expensive again.

£47.18 a year worse off, what a surprise

TBH if everyone in the UK is going to be on average £150 better off a year thats £675billion the government wont be getting in the next 12 months. I''d rather just pay the £150, its only £12.50 a month, along with everyone esle to help get us out this mess in the hope of actually seeing future budget improvements that make a difference to my life.

Do you really think that they'll be losing out? It'll be loaded on somewhere else, like fuel, anytime oil prices and then petrol prices go up they make billions extra.

I have no doubt they will be recouping the money elsewhere but £12 a month will make no difference to my life whatsoever and its clear the UK economy needs it more than I do.
