Maybe folk such as Paul should just grow up and stop racing around and having traffic light GP's. Put it this way, an M3 is plenty fast and powerful enough for public roads and general driving and the odd occasional blat when the feeling takes you.

points?

What sort of scientific verdict is that?

Has anyone other than Rich who actually owned both cars commented?

Is this the old Evo - electronics - spoilt the fun argument in the same way that Vectra VXRs understeer? Because you heard it on the telly?

M3 are bargey because they look like that when no one knows what they actually weigh?

Most people have driven neither and those who may have a bit haven't driven them back to back in the same conditions.

Excellent basis for debate there boys.

Was this aimed at me?

I was talking about track performance.

I, amongst many people in this thread can't speak from experience, but having spoken to many motoring journalists on the matter, the consensus amongst many is that the E46 M3 is one of the best all rounders available, if not the best. These are all people who have driven hundreds if not thousands of cars, and its not just coincidence.

I'm going more on the times and bhp/tonne figures.

The stupid points are based on track times.

This whole thread started with 0-60 times?

Too many people expect modern day cars to be rocket ships compared to older cars, thats the problem.
they also think its all about how quick the engine is and not how good the spec of the car is.

Possibly Sherlock, did you work it out from the fifth word or the fact that you need to grow up?

I was confused as well, I certainly wouldn't think Paul needs to grow up and stop having traffic light GPs given that a lot of experience is based on more than that.

It just surprised me, as I posted at the start of this thread asking for some opinions of a car (e46 M3) - leaning towards it's overall track use.

Then for 6 pages or so, I've not muttered a word on the thread (letting the internet warriors fight about M3's and evo's etc)...

Then all of a sudden, you walk in and say that ... it just felt a bit out of context and a completely unrelated statement to make.
Ultimately, I think you need to learn to read (and grow up yourself probably too).

how am i a warrior paul comparing and evo and m3?????? i was not the one who stated that a evo or impreza are a much better handling car and i never said they was compareable, i only used the evo as bench mark as people had stated how much better of handling car it is......

when people say they are not in the same class an fq 400 for instance is... due to it being in the same price bracket as a m3...... and im sure it does handle better than a m3 but that is as far as it goes m3 wins in every other aspect
