got 40 mins to play about tonight so i decided to do a tad more on front end..
first i made some little panels to weld in and seal the strut tops
then i decided to get brutal and the front went from this
to this
have been talking to a mate about the louvres and he can only punch 100mm long ones so it looks like i will have rows of them instead of long ones but meh, should still look pretty cool just not as cool.
going to knock some drawings up tommorow for him to work of and make a couple sheets of louvres to weld in.

update time.. right so first off my little plates for the strut tops are on hold untill the car is blasted as i dont want to seal in any rust and im struggling to remove it
so this is what ive been up to:
1. Moved the engine from the floor
2. i was annoyed by this dent in the wing.
as the wings weld on its a job to replace them so i decided to try and pull the dent out then do a filler repair later on.
then a quick grind off, bearing mind it will need a quick dress up and some filler still
3. set about filling trim holes all along the sides of car and round boot window, first ground the paint away.
then plugged the holes with aid of a mate
then dressed it back.. obviously these will be tidied with filler eventually too
4. tidied and filled holes on front panel, cut off un-needed bits
5. much needed sweep and tidy, engine back on floor
6. phoned and got a quote for blast and prime car... £500 but i need to get underseal and sound deadening off myself.. so car on stands
get the feeling ill be using this a lot
all in all some progress, going to start cleaning underseal ect asap and aim for end of feb to blast. the quarters and sills will be removed for this to make sure the inner sills are rust free. then i will have the grill, quarters and sills welded in by a panel beater mate but i will do the bodge..
i will weld any small holes that WILL appear and then make brackets for whatever happens engine wise and a dash pod ect..
thanks for reading

Cage:
When you said show cage I imagined one of those chromed things you see in hot hatches with huge subs.... secured in by tabs rather than proper spreader plates.
Doesnt look bad at all.
