Unsure on the former, latter without a doubt. Vert M3's of this vintage have always sat a little uneasily with me, especially with the SMG box.

If it was a manual Dakar Yellow Coupe however....

Nice car regardless Jambo!

Glovebox doesn't sag but due to WANK springs it opens if you drive over speedbumps too fast so needs adjusting.

Springs have to come off ASAP. It scrapes over speed um ps even at 1mph Seen some on eBay so I'll get em bought ASAP.

it's done 90k Sandeel. 1998.

90k not bad, you got service history to see what bushes have been done as trailing arms seem to last 60k odd front wishbones prob 30k odd. E36's are shocking for bushes.

One trailing arm bush has a tiny amount of play in it but the rest are solid. Feels very tight to drive.

Love it apart from the roof, or lack of one.

It is too crashy and it destroys the fluidness of the handling. Plus I scraped the underside on a speedbump which is NOT cool.

My main hate with these is that unlike most top spec cars nowadays, it doesn't really stick out from the lower versions. But in a way if someone doesn't know their cars and tries racing it then they'll get a surprise.

I couldn't go back to having that old a car, but for the money you really can't knock that, fair play mate I'm sure you'll have it looking stunning in no time

lovely car, needs a bit of leather treatment though.
recently im starting to think they look a little dated, but i also think thats all down to the wheel style.

Leather is probabl the worst part of it tbh. If i am honest i would LOVEto retrim them and get some vaders upo front. But need to get the Mrs a ring at some point and save for a house so ill settle for a second hand interior on ebay or just clean/condition this everyday untill the cows come home.

You are right in the fac that most lower spec 318/323/328 all had M-sport kit which is essentially the m3 kit. BUT the wheels they usualy have arent diamond cut just painted silver and look really flat. In the flesh you would hear mine as it sounds pretty darn nice. But i know what you mean.

Just want ot make it look like a nie tidy older example, if you see a tidy one now its special IMO as they are getting rarer due to age and chavved up ness.

Lovely looking car, im a big E36 fan and always wanted a black m3 cab. If i was you i would look for some vaders for the front, i put some in a convertible i had and it looked ace.

How are you finding the smg? My mate had one and said it was the shiitest thing ever maybe that was just a bad example though.

Good cars for the money.

Smg is odd. I kind of like it though. It's designed I think to be slightly more of a cruisers car than a racey one but tbh I enjoy the downchanges and the option to go auto on the Mway. If I had the choice I would have picked a manual but this was so cheap I couldn't say no.
