Spent the weekend at Santa Pod for The Fast Show so got a few pictures
Me and my mates Polo GTI waiting in the fire up road ready for our first runs of the weekend
Managed to get a 16.7 on my first run which I thought was good for a standard 1.6 and it being the first time id ever gone up the strip, the entire weekend I was getting mid 16s which I was happy with
Then my last run on Sunday resulted in a 15.9 which I was over the moon with
After my mate in the polo was waiting in the que to leave for 2 hours and hadn’t moved a few of us found a gap in the fence at the back which had a track road on the other side so we made a move and 20 minutes later we came out at the front exit of the pod
We stopped for some pictures along the way

***Update***
Right guys as some of you may already no ive been stopped from driving for 6 months due to medical conditions, but this doesn’t mean there wont be any progress on the car if anything there will be much more
Had a bit of free time today after work so finally got my rear strut brace painted, went for Arden Blue to match the wheels, ill let the pics to the talking
Primer
Base Coat
Final Coat
Still needs a few coats of laquer but going to give it another coat of colour first
Also went out to start the car up and release my handbrake so it didn’t stick on I noticed some f**ker decided to put some deep scratches in my roof
The roof is going to need to be resprayed but I was thinking of getting it done Arden Blue, what you guys think?
Any one that’s good with photoshop feel free to give it a go
Thanks for looking
Harley.

looking good, love the wheels. please dont do the roof blue, theres a corsa C around my way with arden blue roof and wheels... it looks well OTT and Chav'tastic
If you have to do anything, may i suggest a blue fleck in the lacquer? to give it a subtle but show effect??

Ill give the blue roof a miss, chav'tastic isnt reallly my sort of thing
Just going to have it done black for now, blue fleck just seems a bit ... gay

More of a set back than a update
Right the plan was that tomorrow id be going to pick up an XE of a friend of a friend, was told it was complete engine all auxiliaries, gear box, loom and ecu, my mate was popping round there today so I thought id go down to just to have a look at what I was buying before I went to pick it up, got there and other than a slight oil leak from the rocker cover the engine seemed all good, had a quick look through all the wiring loom and found various cut wires and few bodged ones which tbh I wasn’t happy about but I could have lived with that but he didn’t have a ecu for it…
I was a bit pissed off at this point as it wasn’t as he described to me so I told him I was no longer interested and that he could keep his engine.
Onto a plus note one of my mates has decided to strip his astra GTE for parts, and said we could come to a deal for the engine etc, so ill be going round there tomorrow to take a look and ill be able to hear the engine running as its still in the car
