The Placepot is a really good bet, can pay a lot of money but can also pay not so much.
It works using a pool, all the money staked into the pool less 27% of the total is distributed back out to the winners.
It doesnt pay in odds, because it's impossible to know how many people will be successful on the bet.
In terms of stakes, it has to be £1 for a straight line or you can also do permutations, using a stake as low as 10p as long as the total perm goes over £2.
You pick a horse or multiple horses in each of the first 6 races, if one of your horses finishes placed in the race your bet is still alive and moves on to the next race. Keep going until you have had one placed in all 6 races and you are a winner.
REMEMBER - Place terms are official place terms, not the enhanced placed terms you get on normal price betting. So 2 places 7 or less runners, 3 places 8 to 15 runners, and 4 places if the race has 16 or more runners AND is a handicap!!!!!
Obviously, more people pick the favourites in these bets, so if the favourite palces in every race dont be expecting to get much back, the pools drop considerably should a favourite finish outside of the first three.
1 in each race = 1 line
2 in each race = 64 lines
You can also mix it up, so maybe 3 in one race, two in another, 1 in another, depending on what you think. Make sure you keep your eye on the number of lines, and dont put it on without checking, could cost you a fortune.

Garde Champetre would most likely have been retired after that race or one more race, and he got put down, was a lovely horse who won lots of races at cheltenham.
Scotsirish was also a really nice horse, and a good horse too, both of these were most likely victims of firm ground as they broke their legs when running on the flat, not jumping hopefully they find a way to water the cross country course for next year.
The third horse, educating evans i think it was, trajic accident fell after jumping a fence, still horrible for it to happen.
Racing doesnt need anymore bad press

Ive placed all my bets for today. Picked a horse in each race, an accumulator and a treble.
I will not panic and bet on anything else today.
