UPDATE: 07/03/2013
Thought it was about time I upgraded the audio in the Corsa, Im not massively into my sounds but I like a good sounding stereo system. After upgrading the front and rear speakers ( tutorial here for rear speaker replacement http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=651010) The quality was ok, but lacking in bass and depth.
Decided on an 8" JBL subwoofer as I like having some boot space.
Set about making a custom box:
Not pretty atm but function over form:
Then once I was happy with the box, I set about Trimming it:
With Sub fitted:
Now with the box finished, I had some accoustic carpet and spray glue left over, so I thought id try my hand at trimming up the back of the rear bench as it was looking a little tired.
What I Started with:
After a little fidling, managed to seperate the back from the foam etc:
Soon ended up with this as the finished product:
Then with the Foam Re-attached:
With both the Sub Box and Rear bench finished it was about time I got them back in and See how it all looked:
(yes I know the boot needs a hoover )
As always, comments welcome...

Update: 185:2013
Right so ive mentioned before that the underside of the car needs a little attention and it wasnt till I checked it for before MOT that I noticed all was not well....
So here's some pics:
Doesnt look too bad right?? Well heres a closer look:
Still not sure that its too bad... I took the grinder to clean it up and was left with this:
Also found this...
Rear Seat mount had gone too.... a little longer and i might of had a Flintstones Gsi
Anyone want some bits from a genuine GSI??
As annoying as it is, ive come too far with saving this Gsi to turn my back on it now, so out came the welder, after a few late nights I finally have a solid Corsa..
Now ive also spent some time cleaning up the rear axle, started like this:
Bit of a quick clean up:
Also cleaned the brake lines and painted the rear axle gloss Black :
Been busy with the seam sealer, Acid Etch, and Underseal not had chance to get many pics (not the stuff you really want on your phone lol)
A solid corsa Gsi :
Now some may see this as unnecessary, but I wanted to paint the underside and rear arches body Colour so over the underseal I got busy with the high build primer:
Thats how it stands at the moment, hopefully get it Painted early part of next week, then its MOT time also have a wheel to refurb and a set of genuine sideskirts to paint and fit to replace the replicas that had been put on it for some reason.
Alot of work before PVS, so the presure is on.
As always comments welcome....

Cheers Kyle, if it was any other model I think i may have just given in and swapped everything to a better shell, but as it was a Gsi i thought it was worth saving.
Just cant wait to have it back on the road, been a month now without it

Update: 24/05/13
Now im planning to fit genuine Gsi skirts as the replicas had to come off for the welding to take place.
Dont ask why it had replicas on it, im as puzzled by it as anyone is.
My main concern of fitting OE skirts was that id forever be searching for a set of jacking covers, now ive had the rears for some time after keeping my eyes peeled in the classifieds..
fronts seem to be a rare item and having people offer them for sale for £50+ I thought id never find them, but after speaking to Chris at CM Compomposites, problem solved...
Had these arrive this morning, not GM parts but as close as your ever going to get, made from fibreglass and moulded from original parts which i believe were our very own Christopher :
Really pleased with them and cant wait to get them on the car...
Massive thanks to http://www.cmcomposites.co.uk/

Nice to see a GSi saved, Its hard work, but rewarding.
Ref the jacking covers, I always thought if somebody made some as good as GM items, would sell really well.
