Errrrr 5.5K?! problem is I don't want it I was just curious what you had it up for
After new rubber and Inspection II I had it up for 5k or best offer on the bay. (slightly less on here I think)
Best offer I had was 4.5k but I turned it down then ploughed a few k into the car to bring it up to what you see today.

Ok so jacked the car up and inspected the arches. No telling marks of where it is rubbing. I thought it might be a bumper bracket that sits very close to the wheel so hammered this out slightly but made no difference.
I think it must be rubbing near the top of the arch. possibly agaisnt the sealent once the arch was rolled and the lip flattened. It stands to reason that as the sealent was applied by hand that there could be slightly more on the arch that rubs compared to the one that does not?
I am assuming that tyre rubbing agaisnt sealent would not leave any tell tale marks either. I am reluctant to shave the sealent down.
Looks like it's going to need more negative camber but do not want to go OTT. Booked it for alignment on Thursday.

Easy worth 5K I'd say judging by what you've done and the other examples out there!
One thought about the rubbing is that the tyre expands a lot when hot? Maybe that's why it's only occasional. What suspension has it got? Origional shocks and springs?

It rubs from cold mate.
Its on coilovers, you didnt really think it was on original shocks/springs with that ride height did you?
The standard MV2 rear is ET 50. The 9" wide Style 32 rear is ET22.
There in lies the problem, it is not a ride height issue. Of course rising it to 4x4 height on the rear and making the car look like something out of whacky races would probably resolve it though.
End of the day I have a stupidly low offset on a 9" rim which is perfect for the look I want but not 100% practical.
All of this is in the thread if you read it

Jamborina, here is the trim I was talking about.
Is this a standard M Sport offering or Individual?

haha,sorry,ive got plenty more pics.
mine does rub on odd occasions but im not really bothered about it.
running rear wheels at 9.5 x 19 at et40
its dropped 30 mm i reckon and also pulled rear camber in a bit
tyres are probably a bit big at 245,prob change them next time for smaller profile, also rear arches are rolled

Sorry dude meant to say just standard shocks. I should have read the post properly.
I don't think changing the wheel colour will solve the problem and that's my only input

Not really, you need sin(degrees of camber) = distance you want the top of the wheel to move / radius of the wheel including the tyre.
225/40/17 gives you a sidewall height of 225 x .4 = 90mm
(17" x 2.54) / 2 = 216mm
Total radius = 216 + 90 = 306mm
.5 of a degree of camber
sin(.5) = n / 306
306 = n / sin(.5)
sin(.5) x 306 = n
= 2.67mm
There's more to it than that because the wheel won't roll around the outer face as that assumes, but I wouldn't imagine it would make it much more accurate. The measurements going in are not perfect for a start.
The camber will also have the effect of moving the wheel away from the arch vertically downwards in addition to the horizontal adjustment in the above calc, in that case you'd need cosine and the hypotenuse (rim) and the difference in the adjacent length is the downward movement.
All of the above also assumes the wheel had zero camber to start with, which isn't realistic.
If you know the existing camber measurement I'll do it again. Although it'll be roughly the same, half a mm for every tenth of a degree.
