Kitchen and bathroom floors ready for tiling. Have my 200x200mm black tiles ready to go down, but leaving that until the bathroom ceiling is plastered. Had artex painted orange (like the bathroom ) and it was split so no way of repairing. Used the guy that did my brothers house to plaster. Only charged me £65. Boarded it with my dad the other week.
Bathroom tiled -
Bathroom ceiling boarded -
Bathroom ceiling plastered -
Once I've painted the ceiling can put the last row of tiles on the walls and finally be rid of that horrendous colour.
Got a bit of a project on the go for the stairs too.

Floor tiles ready to down in kitchen and bathroom. Have a back UPVC door and 2 UPVC windows to fit (upstairs already has UPVC) then the fire place needs rebuilding followed by the walls skimming and painting.
As for the stairs - I'm getting some ply cut at work and over cladding the original stairs then carpeting it.
Then it will be ready

As for the old render, I won't be getting it re done and I don't think I can get back to brick so might cover it in snowcem.

All need some work obviously, but for £50 they were a bargain.
Fireplace for living room -
Needs new tiles either side as these were broke so didn't get them.
Fireplace for back bedroom -
and where it is going -
Stone windowsill for living room window -
Paint needs stripping off and taking back to bare stone. Cut off end will be hidden in wall.

Yesterdays work -
Trial fitted the back bedroom fireplace. Thinking of changing the bit where the handle is to black.
Started tiling the kitchen floor. Couldn't do it all yesterday as we ran out of spacers and needed access to the yard!
Paint stripper applied to the stone sill. Going to take a few goes I think as the blue has gone to reveal white paint below. Also applied to the hard wood door up to the loft which has also been painted blue and is white underneath!
Lastly, my dad decided to expose the plaster around the fire place to see how high the bodge job of filling in bricks went. The brick has has a metal lintel and they have filled in below it. Can see the original opening is quite wide. Thinking of leaving the arch exposed but as I am fitted the cast iron fireplace there with a wooden surround it might not work.

Exactly what we have done with our fireplace in the lounge. We aren't having a surround though and intend on fitting a log burner!
Ours also has the steel lintel on the arch which dad said was temporary but they always left them on.
Removal of our back filling created so much dust!

On the tablet so difficult to post the actual pick but this is our fireplace as it stands tonight. Just now need to mist coat, paint and sort the wood out.

Bought and cut to size window sills for inside living and dining rooms. Bought some panels for side of bath. Like this -

Brushed screed on to floor of bathroom in preparation for tiling the floor. Using it to cover up the bitumen that was under the old vinyl tiles.
Which then leaves the mosaic tiles for back porch. Only they are order only from Portugal and could take a month to get here

Bathroom floor tiled and new bath fitted. Had a bit of a faff with the plumbing so that took longer than expected. Plus needed to gouge some plaster out of the wall to make the bath fit. Got some wood to clad the side of the bath, thatjust needs painting once I find some suitable paint. Got my tiles for back lobby on order. Black and red in 100m squares. They are coming from Portugal so waiting 4 weeks for them.
Work were supposed to be cutting me some wood to clad my stairs but doesn't look like that is happening now so need to sort my own.
Next need to get fireplace in living room rebuilt then get the living room and dining room replastered. Then can paint.
