Cadwell was my first track day and the morning was pretty damp. After seeing people in Caterhams/Westfields crash it didn't do great for confidence.

Blyton has definitely shown me the limits of the car in a safer environment I'd say.

I wanted 15s, meant to improve the handling and tyres are cheap on these too.

They are purely for track, not for looking pretty.

To me they aren't, will pop them on some scales later. Although on the box it said circa 9kg per wheel so they aren't made of tin foil

Well I say tyres are cheaper, I mean cheaper than 16s.

Looking at getting some semi slicks like R888, Direzza, A048....basically anything I can get my hands on second hand for a decent price.

3 wheels

Cringed a bit when I saw that jacked up on the scissor jack !!
Awful things, friends 172 hit the deck due to one of them.

Thanks Chris, I've a fairly large list of tyres I'm watching on ebay. Will have a search for some.

What do you run on the VX?

Haha I know what you mean Haimsey, when I first did it the car rolled back ever so slightly and the jack had a bit of alean to it so the car when back down!

The outside edge of my drivers front tyre has been scrubbed a bit from Blyton so having an extra set of wheels to save the Conti's is a worth while investment I think

You can drop a Megane engine right into a 197 though right?

Turbo = better

Not a straight swap, for the hassle I'd rather have the Megane

Widowmaker.

Do you actually use a scissor jack all the time, or do you have a trolley jack?? Madness if you don't.

Was only for the quick test to see if the wheels fit. I either use kyles or the one I've got at home. The trolley jack at the girlfriends has disappeared.
