Why are we all argueing. He has a slip which shows a time. If you dont believe it fair enough. But no need to go on for 7 pages, still argueing over the same thing. Just wait till the weekend and witness it yourself and judge after that.

thats not fake!! that corsa was bought cheap with a minor running issue, that got sorted and some weight got stripped out, an adjustable reg fitted and a pair of r888's... it did a flat 14 with someone elses bodge job roll cage in... after taking that out and trying harder it did a 13.7... apparently one of (if not the) fastest stock xe corsa in the UK, still has its factory fitted oil leak and cowboy shafts

12.95, just scraped it. however theres slips here for 13 flat (dave) and 13.2's etc...
dave only got one run and i told him to go easy with the clutch being almost dead, he was eager to go again but they closed the gates by the time he came back round... he said there much more to come from that as it is

yup first day out but as taylorboosh said, iv practiced launching down the units a few times and if you look at the slips from 1st to last they come down...

oh and as for the weigh comments, iv never weighed it before but im not a buff cunt and i can pick the car up at the back end....
the rears a bit too lightweight tbh... when i cross the line and start to slow the car down with the brakes the rear end lifts up kind of like doing a nose wheely on a motorbike, its quite scary

i wont be there at the weekend
Its not that I dont believe it as such, its just at the far end of the believable scale.
1.8 60fts are decent for 4wd cars!
Shit, I <managed> (as in an achievement) to get the GTR to do a 1.65 60ft.... With 4wd, 9" sticky tyres and 15psi in them.... 8000rpm and just drop the clutch

I am 99% sure a V6 Corsa, even with a 3.2V6 unless massively modified would not hit a sub 5 second 0-60
Mate done 0-60 at 5.6 3.0 with all seats in and nothing stripped etc etc. Can't post link but just type in corsa mr2 eater on youtube and its the 1st vid you see white gsi
Any video's of it eating MR2 Turbo's??
Not sure why that's even in the video title.
Well his mate in his mr2 got a crap time so it was put at that as a bit of a joke between friends. So maybe that's why you never got it.

Pretty much this.
I just find the 0-60 and 60ft times quick for what it is.
Jed, if you want tips on tuning the V6, there is a bloke on VVOC who has fettled his quite a bit, not just buying parts but trying loads of different things. Got some great results.

8 seconds to 85mph would suggest a quick 0-60 time though.

I actually have a V6 car and tbh they are much faster than people expect, the extra weight over the wheels helps traction and people with 4 pots and turbos can't fathom it.
I'm with Jed tbh, 4.2seconds to 60mph is realistic

I think people with turbos are all about the turbo, take the turbo off and they have a 160bhp 4 cylinder 25yr old engine. Turbo power is obviously too much for a corsa and just results in horrible noises, short powerband and epic wheelspinings
^^^^All typed with a keyboard into the internet, yes thats right, a man with a keyboard

nah, a 4 pot turbo is where the big power is at but its about getting that power down, and no dis-respect to ben and all the the others with high power turbos but lets face it, they spin all the way up the track

Look at that crazy fully carbon nova for example. Less then half the power of bigrons corsa but has done a better time. Its not all about power. My old corsa let used to just light the tyres up, up pod and make my times crap. A similar powered xe would do better.

yes and no...
lower power cars are easier to get times which appear good.... they are easier to drive/launch.
A car with a lot of power has the potential for much more, just its a ballache to get it to do that

well that carbon nova has good 60ft times

mines 8th place on there

Is it worth that ballache though? Jed is clearly running good times on a budget with not alot of power (compared to some) and is clearly upsetting them as he has spent a fraction for similar times and enjoyment. Fair play to him, but as i said earlier why doesent everyone just see what happens at the weekend?
