You've seen the opinion of 1 person in the news today. I don't know enough to decide whether he's right or wrong, I do know enough to read the rest of the article however, maybe you should try.

Again we have the SNP, more specifically the torn faced Nicola Sturgeon, calling this EU figurehead 'preposterous' for putting his opinion on the matter across. It's like dealing with children.

Catalonia is another lil place who wants independence-
Catalonia is part of Spain but Spanish ministers don't wont to let them go-
Spain dwarfs Portugal and is the only land mass on there border as the rest of Portugal is surrounded by water and is also by far Portugal's biggest trading partner-
born in Portugal and also there ex prime minister is José Manuel Durão Barroso.
Id have been fucking gobsmacked if he said anything else until it actually become time to vote on anything with the rest of the members

If Rick is talking about the interview on the BBC, then it was the European Commission President - would say his opinion is a bit more valuable than a load of users on a corsa forum

I'm assuming you're referring to Mark Carney, the BoE governor?
He's offered very little in terms of opinion on the currency debate apart from stressing, in his speech a few weeks back, how important it is for an independent Scotland to be apart of the Currency Union - which is true.
Whilst an independent Scotland doesn't need our 'permission' to continue with the Pound, not being part of the Currency Union would put it in a similar situation as Ecuador where it has little input into monetary policy of the USD - your (less than) 9% share of BoE wouldn't mean a huge amount.
And similarly without the Currency Union, an independent Scotland would be shooting itself in the foot with regards to joining the EU with hurdles like ERM (unless an independent Scotland gets inducted upon independence; which case i believe you'd get around the requirement for needing a two-year stabilised currency).
Either way, i don't doubt the Treasury are attempting to bluff their way to a 'No' vote but if they do decide to go through with it then it wouldn't be as rosy as you're suggesting, rather it'd put an independent Scotland somewhat up shit creek without a paddle.
Although tbf, both countries need to be part of the Currency Union as badly as each other

I am going to start a petition to force the English government to have a vote amongst English citizens. As its only fair to see if we really want scotland been part of the UK if they don't gain independence.

Dom if you check back to pages 4/5 i do call the governor by his name and cover abit about what he said but things get a bit repetitive.
Panama and Ecuador iv mentioned and I agree but that wasn't the point i was making I was merely stating a fact that we wouldn't need permission.
Sure iv spoke about Sweden and ERM 2 before as well and that its a strange one as were already part of the EU and have been for 40 years so as such there is no rules that state what is really what as its new ground.
Getting so many pages on this now and some things are being repeated but i cant blame you for not reading so many pages of this as i prob wouldn't either
Mind if I ask why the shit creek just in case you put a new point across

Please do as it might save the need for another cast iron Dave speech asking the rest of the UK to tell the Scots how much yous like us and to give us a hug

Rick is an idiot, he thought he was getting a vote.
That was the one Dom. I know who he is and I did say that I don't know enough about it. It was just an opinion though and his comparisons appear to be flawed.

The latest currency thing is embarrasing.
It's like saying, mum and dad, i'm moving out, going it alone, I want to be my own man, I dont need you anymore.
Then asking your mum to come over and make your tea

If Shetland had custody of that bit of the planet where the oil existed, that would be fair enough to me.
