I've been to Swinley a few times now, at the moment a few of the trails are closed due to the water.
I'll go have a look at muckynutz now, cheers.

Looking to go end of the month for the first time since they turned it into a proper trail centre. Hopefully the weather will have calmed down.
I fully recommend a muckynutz mudguard for the front.
Only roady pussies worry about the rear

deano get smicgsi16v(stu) to show you round I didn't find it very easy to navigate round there. There is some really good bits of trail there but does always seem like you are riding uphill all the time but you only do 700ft of ascent the whole 14miles

Contemplating entering that for towards the end of the year. Will give me a goal for fitness etc, as I need to be better at running. 16 mile biking won't be a problem, only that it's after the running. I'd rather do it the other way around really.

I'm sure others can be more helpful and suggest if they are good or not. But look ok to me.

Cheers. We know it pretty well from yesteryear, but intend on doing the trail centre stuff first then venturing off piste.

My bike is a 10 speed 70s vintage racer, and being of that age it has 27" wheels annoyingly.
They aren't particularly straight and could really do with being renewed. The bike doesn't have quick release and the only 27" 1-1/4 wheels I can find are this lot:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dsports&field-keywords=Wilkinson+Wheels+27&rh=n%3A318949011%2Ck%3AWilkinson+Wheels+27
Any recommendations from that lot or of any others? Cheers.

Done the same ride today as I posted yesterday, but had a massive headwind but still average the same speed, and done it 15 secs faster somehow.
Got my new wheels today aswell, just waiting for a new front tube.
I'm now looking at clip on pedals and shoes as my feet slip of mine and I like how you can pull up aswell, but I have no clue about these so need links please

Was dragged out again today with some of the lads from work to Whinlatter (again ) was very hungover so my mate had to drive. I was pretty fucking useless and nearly puked riding up "the slog" I also found it very hard to follow any kind of line. I lost count of the nearly off's I had...
