Can't say I've ever suffered with warm sandwiches in my bag. Don't see what the fuss is all about. Just eat it.

fell a bit down a mountain today as i came off my bike, endomondo tracked it as well which is a cool feature. bit of blood, straight back on and finish the descent. then later on a different bit bike slipped on a tree root, went to put foot down, shoe got stuck in mud and came off and i kicked full whack a tree stump may have broken my little toe.
top notch day out though. i really need a go pro camera as i fuck it up a lot be quite funny to watch back.
edit, 14.3 miles covered to quote the figures on genuine off road up mountains etc. and i took a peanut butter and jam sandwich with me in my bag as an experiment, and i can confirm that it was perfectly edible after 2 and a half hours science, proven.

well.... im back (route should have only been 103miles... with detour it was a full 110 some douche turned a sign around so sent aload of people the wrong way, then as your going the wrong way their are other yellow signs (with the tinyest of writing on telling you it is a different ride so small 7 mile detour.
although the lad I went with ended up doing 127 miles, he got lost on the way to Llangollen after I lost him in a big group of people.

Just checking endomondo and I was doing 15mph just before I fell down the mountain. Seem to sort of be falling at roughly 5mph lol. Awesome stuff.

Round 3 busted out of my xc racing season at thetford today. actually needed some rain it was so dusty. has given me a sore throat.
Didnt do as well in this one. came in 20th but there was alot more entrants as it was combined with the eastern reigional championship race. so im the 30th fastest person in the eastern reigon if you include the 10 elite riders who were running the front of the grid haha sounds better that way :-P

Good stuff. I saw your ride on Strava. Looks like a fairly decent route. I saw where you went wrong as well

I was quite surprised, for the first 40ish miles we were averaging 14/15mph, after that it slowed down and way back last 30ish were around 10mph
inner tube question... the rear went yesterday (pinched it) so its got a hole both sides of it, is it worth repairing?

Ruined today to be honest. Compared to last year I am a stone over weight and I was not fast last year so this year hills have become a right fucker! Yesterday the decision was made I had to do something I have never dont before, to ride myself into fitness and not wait for a Wiggle or CRC box full of motivation and fitness. Hills are my weakness and always have been so what better to do than grovel up them, and lots of them!
Yesterday was Gun Hill day:

And today was Cat and Fiddle and Flash day:

Tomorrow is the brick works and Long Hill. Both are used by BC and Sky as they are utter slags.

I wish I had hills like that round here. Biggest we have is Bullbarrow which is only about 500 feet of climbing

Good ride that you did, at the minute I dont think I could go much over 70 miles. 100+ miles is tough even when you are used to the miles.

The Cat and Fiddle is a slag of a climb, its just relentless. Its not steep it just goes on and on with very little letup. Where I live takes some beating, flats of Cheshire or the hills of the Peaks, can always go and crawl up Winnats pass which is a 11.7% gradient climb for 1.6k if I feel like it. Surprisingly I never feel like it!
