I dont think I would dare to run xe on a turbo. Not worth it tbh. Would rather get a decent set up from the start and go from there.
Cheers col

i wouldnt specifically do it, but its not as doom and gloom as everyone thinks. hondas get turbod and run far higher standard compressions, no problems. will make more power at less boost. but anyway, i guess youve got to know what youre on about otherwise it will seem too complicated for some.

I appreciate what your saying mate. It is done alot on other cars and other vauxhall motors and not that complicated to do but I personally just see it as a pointless exercise with an xe when there is a c20let available with correct management and setup as a second hand standard package, unless you are fully rebuilding therefore you can use either block/head as you know.

No point tearing down a good condition, none smoking, none knocking XE to turn it into a LET imo. May as well start with a rough one and make it good as 90% once your in there will end up new anyway. I mean look at mine lol

I'm 99% sure Monty's engine is a XE, but with LET pistons, and Dale said it's a bit cheaper to insure than a LET.

possibly a daft question, but you say you maybe planned on putting turbine in it. are those inner arches being so high not going to cause issues fitting filter and afm in as thats kinda where they would sit on the driver side?
