No you imbocile you missed my point, the cars were faster years ago. Obviously it has always been technical, I'm not on about competition between teams.
The electric motor probably has something to do with the whinging Greenpeace cunts.

By what measure were they faster? I'm willing to bet that there is no way an early 90's Mclaren would be anywhere near the current one in terms of lap times.

Apart from the stating the obvious, i think you've missed the point - completely!
Although these 'Greenpeace cunts', as you've so politely put it, are putting pressure on the FIA, Bernie and teams to become more 'green' and eco, safety and cost cutting (especially in the current climate) are the two big players in why they're heading towards small capacity engines and energy recovery.
And it is 'imbecile' you illiterate fuck

Gotta move with the times, keep the sport relevant. That means being green these days
Edit - Or at least be seen as trying to be green

It's people like Ryan that complained when F1 started depending so much on aerodynamics, and when F1 drivers were first forced into wearing a helmet
Keep up dinosaur.

I've had a look on the last page, but i can't find the post i made about the McLarens of the early 90's
The cars of the early 00's hold something like 9 lap records (factual wink)

Thats a bit of a silly statement really isnt it.
I questioned the need for them to have a seperate system to power the car through the pit lane

You said you preferred the cars of the 90's, then separately said cars were faster years ago. Surely you can see where I made the link. I merely mentioned Mclaren as a top car from your favourite era.
Do you have info of lap records at different circuits? Genuinely interested as I was having a similar argument with someone recently but was finding it hard to find evidence, especially with constantly changing circuit layouts.

Apparently the 2004 Ferrari holds 7 of the 9. I can't find a link to it, but im sure i read if on f1technical.com.
Granted that was before aero changes, death of the v10 and with Schumacher at his prime.

As soon as bernie dies I could well see F1 going electric, or at least hydrogen power. As much as I hate to say it, the greenpeace fucks have more power & backing than most.

It wouldn't be a separate system, it'd use the KERs setup that is already fitted.....as i previously mentioned

It's going to be a fair while before we have the battery technology to allow for hour and a half, two hour races. The current Formula-E series, which is just starting out, only allows for fifteen minute races.
And i would have thought hydrogen would be far too dodgy to ship and store around pit lanes.

So 2011 Dom. Not at fault for any accident this season. Button was at fault for 2. Next.

I was watching an old 1989 race at Monaco and Senna was lapping at 1:28 compared to todays 1:14. Sennas time is comparable to todays GP2 cars.

There's something like 5/6 less turns on current circuit layout compared to the 80/90s, so you can't easily do a direct comparison. But advances in aero have outweighed the power restrictions so it's likely that a modern car would be quicker - although i suspect the gap wouldn't be as big as you make it out to be.

Not a chipped shoulder mate, we should all work together to stop theft. No one should be impressed by it, that is wrong.

And drivers shouldn't be gifted top team seats; they should all have to work for it and go through the ranks of lower teams first.....

The Monaco circuit has barely changed in 20 years if anything it's got slower.
