I have days when I miss having a new car. I'd seriously miss the tinkering though if I went back to one.

My brother just bought a s 1600 and im impressed with that so can only imagine the st is even better. Plus I think they look pretty cool.

Don't do it! Facelift fiesta looks Wank! You will get bored and then just look like a yob in a fiesta. BMW has some pricey appearance about it

Yeah these engines are oil hungry!

Thats the thing gav, the z4 still looks like a pricey motor whereas the fiestas (all derivatives) are very common.

Missus is getting a facelift fiesta with my discount and this is where I found out the deal they're doing for employees. Wish she'd get the st but shes not interested

Oil consumption isn't too bad I guess. It took about 250ml's today. The last top up was over 1100 miles ago. Worse than any other car i've owned though by far

You keep the fun cheap car and let her have the boring one (by her own choice)

I haven't topped mine up for about 3month. It randomly asks for oil but then doesn't say it again for a while. Luckily the oil is reasonably cheap.

I want a hard top for mine but don't have the spare cash also it would get damaged when being stored I bet.

Winter tyres being purchased for the back today and then back on the ellipsoids

Winter tyres I was fine last year on the vreds and we had a good few inches of snow.

You do live quite in 'THE NORTH' though so I guess it's the sensible option

It was asking for oil for about a week, then went off for a few days and came back on yesterday. same as before. The level was well above minimum. Maybe it just does it to let you know it's not at max level?

Yeah it's never desperate it's just greedy because it wants to be full. When the lights red it's empty
Yeah my street is like a bowl and I'm at the bottom. Can't get out at all.
Plus I want to save the ch's for summer. Don't want to slide into a curb or anything with them

Had enough of the red top looking shit, so decided to initiate project Back2Black.

Washed the roof, used the masking tape trick to get rid of the fluff then covered the paintwork up.

First coat done:

Going to give it 3 coats I think, then apply the proofer to enable it to last longer and so the water beads on the fabric.

Red was nice, but it just ended up looking pants as the dye wasn't very good.

with regards to oil use. Is RHS of engine(looking from front) dry? Cam cover in good condition? take out coil packs to check too. also did you replace oil breather? breather should be under manifold somewhere.

Ok, so that didn't go to plan...

Was going to dye and proof the roof, but unfortunately the missus' motor is currently undriveable after we had an accident with a range rover evoque yesterday.

I had just gone through a green light and was just about to go onto the m25 slip road when the other party decided to pull out from a road to the left (which had give way lines on). The road was soaking wet and I couldn't react quick enough and I stamped on the brakes which sent me straight into him.

It was a fair old whack. Damage on the focus is front bumper, drivers headlamp, bonnet a-pillar has a dent, windscreen wiper isn't functioning properly, front wing is pushed back causing the drivers door not to open properly and the coolant tank is broken which sent coolant spraying out on impact.

The other driver at first drove off, so I had to drive after him with a fucker car and block him. I couldn't believe this had happened.

Police didn't give a shit as per usual. There was debris in the road from my car also.

So because of that, I need to use my motor to get to work tomorrow.

Pretty gutted really, both cars are 62 plates so it'll be quite an expensive repair.

Pics later.

Had a look at the highway code rules for roundabouts and it puts him 100% in the wrong as he had to give way to traffic on the roundabout and also make sure thre is no traffic leaving at the next exit before pulling out. Rule 187 iirc.

I went into the back of his car at a near 90 degree angle as I braked. Would've gone straight into the side of him if I hadn't braked.
