I went to the F1 this weekend, what a track! It's quite a hike to get about but there are some good places to watch from. Saw Maldonado crash on Friday, and there were some good races from GP2, GP3 and the Porsche cup. The whole weekend was over too quickly. We drove down, just a shame it was on a bank holiday weekend otherwise it would be easy driving back.

Who cares? He's an out and out racer. That's all I want to see.
Put Lewis at the back of the grid every fucking week and i'd still watch it.

Was Dom wasnt it? Speaking of which, hes gone very quiet since Australia
Bet Nico is fucking well gutted at getting 'disciplined'. Hopefully a spark plug is mistakenly misplaced just before the start of Monza.
Mind, if Lewis wins it from here it will make it even sweeter. Im just worried that hes one engine down on Rosberg

Tbh the engines themselves seem to be pretty reliable. It's all the electrical gubbins surrounding them.

And Lewis lost all of those gubbins too when his engine went up in flames

Oh no, one engine out of 5! wasn't the block itself ok? Sure I heard mercedes say that somewhere?
Sure he'll be fine.

I think most teams are expecting to take penalties even without fires and big crashes that may cause additional damage.
It's not just the block they're limited on, they're allowed 5 of each of the following:
Internal Combustion Engine
MGU-K
MGU-H
Turbo
Energy Store
Control Unit
If just one of those were fatally damaged during the fire - it puts Hamilton in with an increased chance of a penalty towards the end of the season over Rosberg.

Not really worth of its own thread, but I attended the Natiowide 300 mile NASCAR race last night, along with qualifying and the practise for tonights 500mile main event.
Debating whether to go back tonight, it was good fun - but I can't blag a ride tonight and not sure I'd enjoy it so much without the beer I was drinking last night.

Agreed. Touring car highlights were on though. Amazing how much contact there is everyone just barges everyone off the track.

Fernando Alonso insists he will stay at Ferrari for 2015..
Not looking good if you believe this (2014) is Button's last season.....

Paging Racist Dan and Whitter, paging Racist Dan and Whitter...
"Fernando Alonso does not believe reigning quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel is the best driver in formula one.
Some have been surprised this year as Vettel, despite his domination of the sport for years, has struggled to keep up with his new Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
But Spaniard Alonso on Wednesday said it has been no surprise to him.
"In my opinion," he is quoted by Italy's La Stampa, "Lewis Hamilton is the best driver.
"I don't know what problems Vettel is having this year, but I have not changed my mind about him -- he is not the best.
"It is others who have to change their opinion," Alonso added."
Good lad is Fernando.
