Realised I need to move away from auto so had a play and below is the result. Any tips welcome as I still don't have much of a clue. Setting was 1/125 F8.

Nice shot mark but i would of gone for a wider aperture to blur more of the immediate background

some nice shots in here since i last checked in
marc, with the picture from the velodrome i would be tempted to crop out the rider at the very back that isn't looking properly, somewhere near the horizontal-ish line. when i scroll down and cut this rider off the picture is much more flowing and pleasant on the eye

Just been back to look at that pic now and have to agree with what he's sayin! Puts it into the rule of thirds category aswell

Well the weather isn't too nice today (start of my week off ) but I needed fuel and thought I'd take the camera along as I saw a rapeseed field the other week. Turns out I can't get very close to it, hedges etc and the part where I could get fairly close has a farm house in full view!
Bit rushed but I just wanted to see what I could fit in.
My attempt at cropping them:
I know they aren't great btw and the weather looks dismal!

He seemed to be stuck to one of the littluns playballs, so moved it around to get him in the best position
Taken in macro with the 70-300 on my d60.
Would love to get a macro lens, but can't justify it really!

Microsoft live viewer is actually quite good for editing photos and its free. I generally auto adjust all my images using that then adjust if I don't like them
