Did you strip it all back down to polish the alternator?

Did you not try another header tank cap? or have you confirmed HG failure?

I'd have weighed it in by now, fair play for crackin on so quick.

I know it's a bit late now, but when I first piped up the coolant lines on my van, I had the hose from the head going to the res, which did pretty much the same as your getting over filling the res. The only thing I can think is because you've by-pass the matrix, the water from the head is going into the water bar and back filling the res. Or the other way round.

I would of tried blanking off both of them pipes, if they're joined together.

Also was the block decked? I know them Comitec gasket tend to go, if everything isn't flat. Mine did it on my XE.

Video is cool, looks a right fucking monster.

As has been said, fairplay for keeping at it.

This is how mine went, but it ran fine because it was only between the bores.

It does look like it's been making it's way to the water ways, but it doesn't look too bad.

I don't think I would use one of them gaskets again, if I ever go back to a Vauxhall engine.

You are proper mental, going bigger and better.

I remember Rc off Astra owners club cracked his block on his c20let, he also over tightened the oil feed. He tried everything to stop it leaking but the block was scrap in the end. Project looks awesome mate, been following this for a while.

I will be honest, your thread is what's stopping me getting on with mine as I know the costs of these things and I just can't justify it much anymore. Chins up though.
