I have on my 1.2 one but not in the GSi one. :/

Not sure what to do as i know you need an airbag for the new MOT rules.

You'll need to get a non airbag backing plate and have to sort something to replace the squib as well or is it a bolt on job? I had to change all that to add an airbag steering wheel. so have the non airbag bits spare if you need them

could always remove anything to do with the airbag therefore what isn't there they can't test

I've asked Ian,it's a bolt on jobby.

I'll see what i can do when i get it,i don't understand why they didn't have airbags even though it's from a GSi.

Some of the GSI's did come with airbag but the steering wheel isn't that nice imo

If it is a bolt on then fair enough but I was always under the impression you'd need to change those bits for it to fit as mine wouldn't fit on the column without the right bits

Fair enough Dan! Will look good anyway its an easy fix if it doesn't fit and like i said I've got them sat here in a box if you want them

Just to confirm with darryl, it ain't simple. You need to wire up the horn push bit and earth, and you need to mess with the cowling as it don't fit properly without the squib or around the lock ( airbag is straight, non-airbag goes in at an angle) proper way would be to change the lock and column, lot of work for a wheel.

The GSi's came without airbags as all early ones did, later ones run normal ghay vaux wheel/airbag, as found in early sports (even posties like Chris F's)
