no we arnt sayin the same thing

i have said it 10 times over the difference between his power@ wheels and power @ flywheel is a 27.9% loss not 39%

Thats what Sooty said, his losses were 39, he never said % or BHP
I assumed it was %
As i said 99.5 + 39 =135.5
99.5 + 39% = 138.305 unless my calculator is wrong...

Whichever way you calculate it, these transmission losses seem high to me. For the record, T499 makes 180bhp at the wheels and 214 (calculated) at the fly - that's either 16% or 19% losses according to whether you use Lucky's method (calculating up from wheel figures) or calculating down from theoretical fly figures.

well 39% of 138bhp is 53.82 bhp so that would mean from 138 bhp at the engine it would amount to 85.67bhp at the wheel

yes its high but 27.9% and 28% is certainly closer to the average of 25% than 39% is

39% is high Kerry, if you read what i'm trying to tell ya, 25% losses are the norm for a front drive car but(the now sleeping Sooty) and i reckon that the high losses are due to the cars sitting in cold temps for 1 1/2 hours.

27.9% of 138.5bhp is 38.64 so 138.5-38.64=99.86 bhp

and for those maths novices th way to work that out would have been 27.9/100x138.5 =the loss from engine to wheel
