just had the cat taken out and a piece of stainless welded in does the same job for 1/3 of the price. Makes a nice niose when giving beans but still nice when on less then 1/2 throttle. I took the whole system off and put it all on properly as it was full of holes etc and exhaust gases where entering the inner sanctum.
IN other news...
pretty pictures from trax
it appears my mate had a smudge on his lens though.
also took a few more things off the C20XE including the sump
and it turns out of got MAHLE pistons and rods which i'm well chuffed about as i'm led to belive tey are forged.
that's all for now

Update
Bought and fitted some -100mm rear springs off Pazz1991. Really happy with them, lowered my car another 14mm over my Dave A '-90mm' rears.
a few crappy pics of how low it is
also bought a new jack as I was sick of using a scissor jack then a trolley jack that used to slowly go down by itself
has a collasped height of 79mm which fits under anypart of my car, and goes up to 396mm which is much higher than a standard trolley. All aluminium aswell so it's easy to lift and looks sweet.

Update
As per all the other parts of the engine I took the cylinder head into work and got it all cleaned up
it makes me so happy seeing all the crap coming out of the stuff
BOSS
Just got to scrape the gasket faces, clean the valves and their associated parts, buy the top end gasket set then I can rebuild the head!
Also these turned up this morning (thanks 'manghan' ), which are the first parts bought for the rebuild

All gaskets and seals, and main bearings and big end bearings. I'm going to measure the wear on the rings but they will more than likely be replaced.
So basically yes

Update
I went and picked up a load of conversion parts off 'Luke', who had the arden blue LET, on Sunday evening and i've got an absolute load of high end conversion parts.
First off M-Tech Driveshafts with big block CV joints
M-Tech big block hubs, with newish hub uprights and wheel bearings
M-Tech Front engine mount both halves
M-Tech power steering bracket (with C20XE pump and custom hose)
Tie bar lowering blocks
Newish lower arms, drag links, Tie rod ends and ARB fully polly bushed
C20XE exhaust manifold heat shield
And finally a newish Valeo 16v radiator, 10" revotec fan, 12" revotec fan and an M-Tech cool running fan switch
well chuffed with that little lot, will get it all cleaned up. This should pull the conversion time forward a little. Just got to get cracking with rebuilding the head and stripping/rebuilding the bottom end!

New water pump will be bought more than likely, oil pump i'll prob overhaul at work.
I know how the crank comes out, but I don't know how i'm going to get the crank nut off the end, it's done up to around 200lbft (haynes manual) and haynes says put the gearbox in 5th which isn't much use to me.
