They are still an aftermarket tuner that buy cars from vaux though, the cars don't come off the production finished straight into your local ford garage like the RS does.

I didn't say what would be better, I said the RS and the VXR-R aren't comparable in the way you are saying they are.

Quaife didn't develop a product specifically for Thorney though, unless I'm very much mistaken, but they have with/for Ford, twice now....
And the suspension, he's banging on about race developed coilovers, I'd put money on the Focus having better handling characteristics than a tuned Astra, even though the Astra is no doubt a very good car, the suspension on the Focus isn't a gimmick, Ford don't do gimmicks.
What suspension is on the Astra btw? Proflex? Bilstein? or something like KW, which has been used on a track a few times, not developed on a track.
A tuned car, even if it has Vauxhall's blessing, is a totally different ballgame to a car built by the parent company.

So Quaife just threw a few nuts and bolts together for the M32 LSD did they?
KW Varient 3's
The suspension and revo knuckle bullshit is a gimmick, Renault have been using it on the R26 for ages now, they don't feel the need to shout and scream about it at every press release.

Again, missing the point.
The ATB diff itself, the principle, the whole thing, was developed in conjunction with Ford, for the mk1 Focus RS.
The same technology has been used in the M32 varient in a casing a different shape, so it fits the gearbox.
They have improved upon the design for Ford for the mk2 Focus RS, that's not what they've done for Thorney, he's just bought a boggo M32 ATB....

Nobody is disputing that, they're saying the ford make the RS, vaux do not make the VXR-R, vaux make a vxr then some company add bits too it.

Maybe, maybe not.
When Quaife developed the ATB, no-one expected it to be revolutionary, everyone was used to viscous/plate diffs and it's totally different.
Until anyone has driven one, sorry, both, it's all speculation.
The Focus could be totally unlike anything ever before it, until it's out and about, who knows.

the escort cossie is where my money would go if i was buying a ford rs.
lmfao
the late cossies didn't have the whaletail you know - it was an option
no
it was an option to deleate the rear spoiler, but they all came with one

We can all sit here shouting the benefits/disadvantages but I'm sorry out of the box the R26R is and will continue to be the class leader even when the RS hits these shores.

r26r has perspex windows and a stripped out interior designed for the track.
the rs will be so much better out on the road where the real world shit happens.

I hear the Focus RS has matched or come very close to (8:12-8:16 seconds) the R26R's time round the ring.
Okay the Focus has around 80bhp more, but is has 4 seats, and is around 250kg heavier.
RS is and more than likely will always be the best all-rounder.
I'd say the E92 M3 is better then the RS4, but you see far more RS4's on the roads. Why? Because its a better all-rounder. (and i've been in both, so my opinion has something to back it up)
Also, the RS will hold its value much better than the VXR-R or R26R.

The RS isn't a limited edition so I can't see the residuals being much better than a standard Focus tbf.
