In way it is, in another its not.
The fact is he has thrown a forum together and then come onto a 'rival' popular forum to drum up business. He is trying to piggy back off the hard work (and if you ask Ian I think he'll confirm its been very hard work) of many people to build this site to what it is.

of course he did.
I wouldnt mind if he was a current member who has added to this site in the past, but he has come on here with the sole intention of getting members to join and use his website.

Doesnt have to go to shit.
Maybe from this thread he will realise that to be as big as this site you have to work, and he'll go away and build a fully working and decent looking site - and then he wont need to go to other forums to find members as they'll come to him.

I find it funny no-one has questioned the fact that his last website gained a community, but he closed it for no reason whatsoever - just to start this new one.
Why not invite all of your old members mate?

Have you considered this though? Once you have joined the Army, you will be without internet access for ALL of your basic training. Then once you get posted, you will undoubtedly be sent on ops to Afghanistan for 6 months. Once there you will have 20mins of internet time per WEEK on your Paradigm card. This is a really shit slow satellite conection btw!
So, in conclusion, you will have no time whatsoever to run and maintain this site, or attend any shows to promote it.
If you want honest advice, pack it in now before pouring anymore money into it and wasting it. You will need it in the Army to supplement your kit.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

i just looked at the forum and the only problem i see with the layout of it is the massive scrolling banner, its a bit annoying, other than that it looks eye catching and is easy to understand. the corsasport forum is very simple and tbh there isant much to the design/layout of it, its only a good forum due to its members, which is what this lad is looking for to get the site going. just my opinion.

The shame for me is that even larger sites need time, energy and support. The difference being if you invested those things in CS you would get back double.
Or go to the trouble of starting something new and if it's not nurtured daily it'll die within a few months.
For me it's about the return on what work people put in to things. And I'm also very receptive to offers of support.

Members is what he needs as they'll bring continual views. A one off hit is hot what a forum is after.
