I dont understand all this.. They are both signed by sony BMI so its not like people are 'making a stand', they are lining sony's pockets either way.

its just about the X Factor song not getting to No.1, not who gets what money. Makes a nice change to not have some tool from the X Factor not go straight in at No.1

For every person who doesnt want that Geordie poofter getting to No1 there will be someone who would tear off their own toe nails to see him win while the fat cats at Sony sit there rubbing their hands together..

Does anyone REALLY give a rats arse who makes it to No.1 ? Its not like that drivel is going to stand the test of time and be played every year for decades.. Next christmas people wont even know who Joe McLikesitupthearse is.

so the public voted for him to win. then the public voted for the pop puppet to lose. its not about the money. its about the idea that x-factor is geared up towards a christmas number 1. the power of the internet and media has stopped that from happening. not once has any money been mentioned. its just about saying enough is enough. why should a retarded puppet get a number 1 becuase they won a fixed tv show?

i think you are mis-informed david in this instance. its not as deep or financial orientated as you think. ratm song wasnt even a release. the band didnt know this was going to happen or that it was happening till last week.

now lets all get a facebook campaign going to vote labour out of government.

That band only get PRS Royalty, its the label that rakes it in..

Christmas no.1's have always been a joke. The ones that stick in our mind and get played year after year are the most ridiculous ones, surely that is an insult to the music industry? but no its just a bit of fun..

If anything needs to be done Simon Cowell needs to be stopped from making a mockery of the pop industry but lining the pockets of the record labels is not the way to do it.

The sad fact is while there are the morons out there who will watch toss like Britons got the X factor in the jungle and make £1 phone calls to vote for their favorite freak there will always be manufacturered pop monkeys in the charts.

The campaign wasn't about the money but irony is that in buying something else, you're paying the machine anyway.

IIRC all money from the sales of RATM went to charity. Sure I read that somewhere, might be wrong though.

Not even a little bit! I bought the song again even though i already have it. I dont care where the money goes.

Its just a 'fuck you' to the people who make Xfactor end so the winner is guaranteed (well, not anymore) xmas number one with a song that they havent even written themselves.

A large percentage is being given to the charity 'shelter' was on Radio 1 earlier.

But in buying it, you make record labels richer.

I heard that they were giving a donation to Shelter. Not sure what percentage it represents.

But how stupid will you feel when McElbowsex is No.1 anyway.. All you will have done is help pay for a new holiday home for a Sony BMI board member. Well done
