Transfers are instant now, if you don't take cash always do the deal when the bank is open to check it.
Well, whenever I make a transfer to another bank, it says that transfers take 3-4 working days. I rang the bank when this happened to see if the money had left my account and it left after 2 days but was not deposited. It was in the other banks holding account so there was nothing my bank could do.
So, bank internal transfers are instant, but not to different banks are not, unless you go into the bank and pay extra.

Most (not all granted) bank transfers are now instant, even across different banks, even when done online, for free.

I'm with Lloyds, unfortunately for me, these seem not to do instant, free transfer. Which about sums my luck up really.
2010? What a great start. Bring on 2011.

Like I say, this car is more than just the car. When I sell it, its a deposit on a house in Australia, my flights there, and getting my stuff out there too. If I dont get it back, then I can't afford to emmigrate.

The fact the car is no longer for sale when corsanut called, the brother has called you twice, given you all the details etc etc doesnt scream out scam to me so hopefully it will all be sorted soon would hate it to happen to me though and cant imagine what you would be feeling, like you say though its all traceable should the worst happen

As I have said before, I hope it all does pan out ok in the end.
Out of interest though, why did you splash all your emigration savings on a car? Seems a bit pointless to me!

Because I wanted a nice new car, then when I came to sell it, use the funds to pay for my journey. I noticed that these cars hold their value extremely well, and thought it would be a good idea.

There was only 300 of them made, thats the reason they hold value.

I was looking on Pistonheads at more cars. I remember the guy (the original sellers brother) saying to me that he had an s2000 for sale. Well I found it on Pistonheads, as well as another car for sale (Golf GTi) for sale too. So now I have another number for the brother who was selling the S2000 - i'm not saying this is dodgy in itself because the seller gave his brother his sim card to call me. But at least now I have another contact number for the brother for the police if it goes that far.
I'm becoming less worried about it to be fair. He has been a member on pistonheads since 2006 and it looks like he's sold a few motors. I cant find any bad information on his username or anything else on google when I type in his pistonheads username.
Watch this space.
EDIT: I've also seen him advertise a car in The Sun classifieds for Stoke On Trent which was also an s2000

Good luck with this, hope it works out for you.
Just about Lloyds though, it must be Natwest that take ages to accept, as I can transfer from Lloyds to Barclays and HSBC instantly online with no problems.

I hope you dont mind tiger but as you've posted about it on here and everyone knows i'll just say
I found it for sale on another forum but it was posted the same day the PH ad was done so it ties in there. The only bit I hope is ok is that the guy said on the first of january that the car was still for sale. I just hope tigers deal was done after this or on the same day at a later time lol.
