Smalling is good but only when he plays alongside Vidic or Rio, they seem to guide him. If he doesn't have that guidance he struggles. He will get that himself with more experience though.

But we do need better back up than Evans, Brown & O'Shea for when Vidic and Rio are out. Thats what did us last season.

I think United have relied on Scholes, Giggs, Rio and the other 'older' players for too long.

They need players that can hold the team together. Someone like Beckham or Keane, a good solid captain.

But he brings more to the pitch than Chicharito. Chicharito is an awesome striker but he can't ping the ball round the pitch like Rooney can. Can't complain at having both available though!
