Couldn't be arsed reading past page one so this may well not be relevant anymore, but:
Had a 320Cd for 3yrs / 70k miles now. Swirl flaps and turbos can go on all diesels so get them removed or buy approved used and keep it in warranty cause an engine will cost you dear and they usually lunch the lot when the flaps go. MAF sensor can also be a pain in the tits.
Front and rear arms / bushes take a hammering but aren't that expensive.
Brakes are woefully inadequate if you like to make progress, mine seems to love warping discs.
Tyres on the MSport coupes are priced ridiculously for the spec michelin or bridgestone options and the width of the rears make snow chains a complete no go. Seriously consider winter rims and tyres given the last couple of years. Mines still got a full boot of tools and 50litre water tank weighing it down just incase.
Facelift was on the 53 iirc which is well worth it, LED tails and better wheel design. Interior wise I don't think anything changed but its a brilliant world where a £20k+ car doesn't come with cup holders as standard!
The following "c" is here because my BB won't let me delete it, great huh? c
