Love vectra vxr's, I think people write all vec's off as slow grandad cars, but i'd love one at some point tbh.

Not read all through this thread so don't know what mods u have, but i'd love to have one, take it to about 350bhp and smoke all the little chavs around my ends haha.

quire chavvy but lotsa lols to be had

Managed to make the most of the weather this afternoon. Well, managed to do some things anyway, not everything I wanted to do.

Comes apart pretty easily;

All of that just to get to these easily;

Repainted;

One almost fell off the Mazda spoiler where they were drying, caught it but smeared it all, so had to redo it

Cat was playing dead under the Mazda

All done and rebuilt;

Tomorrow I'm going to try to get the Pre-Cat removal section fitted, and if that goes quickly/smoothly, I may also try to get the rear Diffuser trim painted too.

Yeah, I might wash it tomorrow too. Can't really be arsed though, rather be out using it.

Today's successful work - Pre Cat removal section;

Finally, on the 3rd attempt of fitting, it all went well and sealed up nicely. Very happy with the results!

Pics;

Remove some bits to get to the original pipework;

Remove more bits to be able to get the Cat out;

Comparison;

Fitted & sealed in;

Exhaust tips cleaned up;

Mate cleaning my underbonnet plastics;

Team effort for cleaning, my cousin and mate are like my own little Poles;

Tidy;

The exhaust note is now different, louder and with much more of a 'Vee' note to it than before. The car pulls harder too, right up to the redline, and is much more responsive. Looking forward to feeling it once I get it booked in for some mapping...

Standard Cat is back on, other removal section just would NOT seal up and kept blowing. So, binned it off, new one is on order and the car is back to standard

Anyway, this meant I could take it up to Combe this weekend, where it performed fine as normal. Still barge like compared to my Corsa, just nice to have some power for the straights now to make up for all the pace lost through corners.

MOT & Service, with Brake Fluid renewal booked in at Vauxhall for the 1st October.

Better bloody pass, can't see why it wouldn't!

Then provided it does pass, time to tax it straight afterwards

Then insurance will be due around 3 weeks later!

I'm going for 6m this time to spread the sot of running the car - otherwise MOT, Tax & Insurance is all due within a couple of weeks of eachother.
Not a good move! Should have thought of that when I bought it and paid for it all at once

MOT Passed without a single advisory

Service completed & 'Health checks' completed without any concern, other than the dent/scratch in the rear door...

Tax was to be bought yesterday, but took the wrong insurance document (for the old Reg plate), so had to do that today instead - 6 months bought.

£550 down, only Insurance to go... Bah.

New Pre-cat Removal section came from Regal/EDS yesterday.

Nice looking bit of kit in comparison to the TX Autosport one too- this one has a loose fitting flange (lol) to allow for easier location, and a sealing insert. Also has all the brackets for the heatshield too, unlike the TXA one.

New addition, just needs pipework finishing when I get a dry spell...

Mounted through the pillar trim so mountings are as minimally visible as possible. Wiring all run nicely too. Dashboard is so easy to work on with this!

Boost Yo!

Absolute maximum I could get from it.

Won't go up any further until it gets mapped...

I think I need to revisit the wiring at some point - it asks for a permanent live, which I've ignored and piggy-backed with the switched live wire for it, which I think is preventing a 'memory' from functioning (peak pressure recording and illumination colour selection)

No biggy though.
